It’s highly possible that Deportivo are going to visit the Iberostar stadium only having the casualty of Laure, though Riki, Ayoze & Manuel Pablo sustained knocks. The rival is waiting for the arrival of Giovani.

More positive than negative news for Deportivo ahead of the important visit to RCD Mallorca (Sunday, Iberostar stadium, 17h00 CET). Both teams are lying inside the drop zone and need the three points in order to reinforce their salvation probabilities, especially the Galicians, side that’s living six points below the safety.

It seems that right-back Laureano Sanabria ‘Laure’ is going to be the only casualty for the game. The right-back was in Madrid searching for a second opinion regarding his groin injury. The club hasn’t revealed the results of the new scans, but clearly he isn’t retuning in the short-term period.

Who already have the medical okay are central defenders Ze Castro (adductor) and Kaká (hamstring), therefore for the first time in a month coach Fernando Vázquez is having his four centre-backs available for a liga meeting.

Still, several players have faced physical problems that put them on hold for Sunday’s game  Centre midfielder Jesús Vázquez (muscular) , left winger Javier Camuñas (fibula) and right winger Bruno Gama (knock) skipped at least one training session during last week, but the three of them are already okay by now.

On this week the four players facing physical problems were strikers Riki (knock) and Nélson Oliveira (hamstring), plus right-back Manuel Pablo (muscle) and left-back Ayoze Díaz (stone bruise). Of this list Riki and Oliveira will be fit to play on Sunday, while the side defenders will have to wait for Friday or Saturday in order to know if they will be ready, but it’s probable that they are going to be fine.

About the players on international duty, left winger Pizzi and right-back Sílvio Azevedo joined the trainings on Thursday and are fresh enough to play as they didn’t perform for Portugal in the World Cup qualifiers. Colombian Abel Aguilar returned on Thursday to A Coruña and worked individually at the gym during the afternoon; he should join the collective work during today’s training, which will take place at the Riazor.

At RCD Mallorca, coach Gregorio Manzano was not having injury problems, but on Wednesday centre midfielder Fernando Tissone sustained a knee injury; the Argentine didn’t train on Thursday, but isn’t discarded for Sunday’s game.

Meanwhile, centre midfielders José Luis Martí and Javi Márquez are returning from suspension, besides striker Javier Arizmendi (Soleus) and centre-back Pedro Geromel (ankle) are fit to play and might be picked for the game.

But the biggest concern is related to the international players, mainly Giovani Dos Santos, one of the most in-form players at the Majorcan squad. The Mexican arrives on Friday after playing twice with his national team, in the first clash against Honduras he sustained a knock, but the coaching staff expects that he will be fit to play.

There were other three players in international duty, defender Alan Hutton played with Scotland and is already training with the rest of he team, the same goes for attacker Emilio Nsue, who played and scored a goal with Equatorial Guinea. Finally, ex-Depor Dudu Aouate is already in Majorca after playing for Israel, but he will join the trainings until today.
