Fernando Vázquez is only having the casualty of Laure for the game against RCD Mallorca, so he has plenty of options to prepare the lineup. There was a big attendance to the open session held at the Riazor in order to support the players.

Striker Riki, left-back Ayoze Díaz and right-back Manuel Pablo returned to train on Friday and are available for the trip to Majorca, therefore right-back Laureano Sanabria ´Laure´ is the only casualty for Sunday’s game. It means that coach Fernando Vázquez has plenty of options to prepare the lineup for the game.

Starting with the centre of the defense; for the past game visiting FC Barcelona the coach only had one centre-back available [Aythami] and was forced to pick someone from Deportivo B [Insua] now he has his four options available for the position. It’s highly probably that Ze Castro will regain one of the spots and joining Marchena.

The combination Ze Castro-Marchena is the most used one on this season, but the injuries and suspensions have only allowed this couple to play together in two of the nine games disputed in the second round. The rest of the defense should be the same one that faced the derby, with Dani Aranzubia as the starting goalie, Manuel Pablo performing at the right side of the defense and Sílvio Azevedo at the left.

An interesting thing would be the decision of Vázquez regarding who will play at midfield; in the derby the chosen ones were Juan Dominguez and Abel Aguilar, but the situation at the Iberostar stadium will be different as the Majorcans are playing with a triple pivote figure, so Vázquez might end choosing a defensive couple, which opens an opportunity for Paulo Assunção and Jesús Vázquez.

The lineup in attack should be the same, with Bruno Gama attacking from the right flank, Pizzi doing it from the left wing, Riki should be the central attacker and Juan Carlos Valerón the playmaker in the formation.

The main news on Friday was that the training session took place at the Riazor, a session open to the fans. At least 4,000 persons witnessed the training and cheered up the players chanting songs like “Si se Puede” [Yes we can]

After the session Pizzi addressed the media and told to reporters that the players were pretty impressed by the response of the fans, ”We’re the last place at the standings and it’s impressive what these persons are doing. We must thank them. They are an impressive group of fans. I don’t have words to describe how beauty things were today. It’s pretty to feel that they are with us; it brings more will and hope.”
