THREE DOUBTS AT THE LINEUP

20 Apr 2013
Fernando Vázquez has four doubts for Sunday’s game; all of them are related to the physical condition of the doubtful players, plus the substitute for Marchena at the centre of the defense. He will wait until the last training before making a decision.

On Friday, striker Nélson Oliveira and centre-back Ze Castro completed part of the training held behind closed doors at the Riazor, while attacker Riki completed the full session. Still, the trio remains doubtful and coach Fernando Vázquez said that he will decide until Saturday if they are going to be picked for the clash against Athletic Bilbao.

The Galician coach is even contemplating the possibility of picking centre-midfielder Abel Aguilar for the match, despite the Colombian has remained sidelined throughout the week It means that Vázquez will decide the lineup for the meeting until the last training before the game. During his press conference the coach was pretty calmed and said that he’s optimistic with all the cases, including the one of Aguilar.

If Ze Castro isn’t fit to play then Kaká will join Aythami Artiles at the centre of the defense, while Dani Aranzubia, Manuel Pablo and Sílvio Azevedo will probably keep their spots at the defense.

Despite the club isn’t ruling out the participation of Abel Aguilar in Sunday’s game, only a miracle will keep the Colombian at the starting formation, so the most probable thing is to witness a Galician combination at the centre of midfield: Álex Bergantiños-Juan Dominguez.

Then the doubt in attack is who will be the central attacker; Riki seems recovered, but the doctors are cautious and don’t want to assume risks. Vázquez said on Friday that he saw the striker happy and probably he will be the starter in the game. Oliveira also remains doubtful and has lesser chances of playing the game.

The rest of the attacking line should be the expected one and the same of the past liga matches, with Bruno Gama attacking from the right wing, Pizzi doing in on the left and Juan Carlos Valerón being the guide in the playmaking function.
