Deportivo will have four casualties for the trip to the José Zorilla stadium, including Salomão and Abel Aguilar, while other three players are doubtful. Real Valladolid could miss up to three players for the clash.

Not the best news for the important match against Real Valladolid (José Zorilla stadium, Saturday, 18h00 CET). The past match against Atlético Madrid was marked by important casualties at the squad as coach Fernando Vázquez missed six players.

It was expected that things will be better for this game, but it turns out that the Galician tactician already has four confirmed casualties for the meeting. Right-back Laureano Sanabria ´Laure´ (groin) and centre-back Carlos Marchena (quadriceps strain) are already out for the rest of the season.

And for the trip to Valladolid the other two players out of the meeting are centre midfielder Abel Aguilar and left winger Diogo Salomão, both with a calf injury. Colombian Aguilar missed the game against Atlético due to suspension, but he was also dragging a muscle problem. It was expected that he was going to be ready during this week, but he was unable to train on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The latest scans determined that he sustained a grade I muscle injury on his right thigh; the problem is not only sidelining him from this match, but it’s also making doubtful his presence for the next game at home against RCD Espanyol. The injury of Salomão is exactly the same case; the Portuguese winger already missed the games against Real Betis and Atlético Madrid for this reason. Actually, it is feared that both mean could end up missing the remaining four games on the season, because this type of injury are often tricky to heal.

To make things worse right-back Manuel Pablo, centre-back Ze Castro (both adductor) and left winger Pizzi (ankle) didn’t complete the training sessions during Tuesday and Wednesday. It’s highly probable that the trio will be available for Saturday’s game, but the point is that they aren’t at 100%.

Ze Castro just completed part of Tuesday’s training and was off on Wednesday

At Real Valladolid, coach Miroslav Djukić is only having one confirmed casualty for the game: left winger Julián Omar Ramos, who’s suspended after picking the fifth yellow card of the season in the past clash with Real Madrid. But the ex-Depor man also has two doubtful players for the meeting: centre-midfielder Álvaro Rubio (muscle) and striker Alberto Bueno (Achilles). It’s very probable that both will miss the game against the Galicians.

The three of them are important pieces at their squad; Rubio is an important resource at midfield and the fourth men at the squad in terms of more minutes in liga (2,574). Meanwhile, Bueno has scored four goals plus providing three assists, while Omar is the third player at the team with more assists in liga (5).

Real Valladolid is currently at the edge of securing the permanence at Primera División. They have 40 points, three points away from the goal, so the match against Deportivo is seeing as a vital opportunity to secure the salvation.
