After a slow start, Bruno Gama is now the most in-form player of Deportivo, just when the club needs references ahead of the crucial last two matchdays on the liga season. The player himself has admitted his good form.

Right winger Bruno Gama was criticized at the beginning of the season as he wasn’t having the same impact at the team compared to the past Segunda season; many fans thought that the player should be benched, but he stayed at the starting formation of Oltra and Domingos Paciência, actually he’s the only player at the squad that has played in all the league matches of this campaign.

And things have changed in the last stretch of the season, because the Portuguese winger is now the most in-form player at the team, scoring four goals plus providing two assists within the last seven meetings. Now he’s third in both departments, with six goals added to his tally and five assists in the whole league tournament.

The true is that Bruno is living a similar situation to what happened last year, because in the Segunda tournament he barely had a direct impact at the team during the first round, and turned to be a decisive factor for the promotion thanks to his eight goals and eight assists in 29 Segunda matches, though in that opportunity this big difference was caused by the groin injury that he sustained during the pre-season.

The player himself admitted that he’s living his best moment on the season, this during a press conference held on Monday, “Yes, I can say that yes. I am playing in the tournament and things are working out for me. I cannot explain why I have improved lately, but this year things have been similar to last year, there’s no explanation for it.”

The fact of been living a solid moment means to have confidence at the moment of trying to score a goal, as the one that he netted against Espanyol, “When I was at the edge of the area I turned off and tried to shot on target with my good leg; it’s a resource that I have. It’s a little automatized. Sometimes it doesn’t work, and this time it worked out and helped the team to win, which is the important thing.” He explained.

Finally, Gama told to reporters that the team is feeling fine, especially since now they depend on themselves, “The good thing is that we depend on ourselves, and with only two games remaining, we are facing a situation that we like, but must continue on the same path. It’s time to think of Malaga.”
