The first team begun the pre-season on Friday; there were physical tests in the morning and a two-hour session in the afternoon. Cañi, Deák and goalkeeping trainer Manuel Sotelo were the only new faces.

The pre-season stage begun early in the morning as the first team’s players underwent the first physical tests. Fifteen players were called for this event, but only fourteen showed up, the player that wasn’t in Abegondo is Paulo Assunção. The centre-midfielder is in Brazil as the club is searching for an exit.

After the physical tests coach Fernando Vázquez talked with reporters and he said that the reason why Assunção wasn’t in A Coruña is because he’s out of the plans for the Segunda season. Then the players went home and returned in the afternoon.

The second session of the day was a training practice that lasted almost two hours. Fabril’s new signing Jesús Cañizares ‘Cañi’ was picked by Fernando Vázquez for the session, therefore there were fifteen players training. Curiously this was the first practice for Cañi at Deportivo, and he did it with the first team and now with Depor B.

It was also the first training for centre-back Stefan Deák and goalkeeping trainer Manuel Sotelo, the first is returning to Depor after been loaned during the past two weeks, while the latter is coming from RC Celta in order to replace José Sambade.

The session was a mix between physical exercises, tactical work with the ball and even a training match. Bruno Gama is already recovered from the muscle injury that forced his exit in the last game of the Primera season against Real Sociedad.

There will be a new training session on Saturday (Abegondo, 09h30 CET), then the players will rest on Sunday and the practices will continue on next week. For the moment only these fifteen players will be training with the team. The group of players from Depor B that will have a chance with the team are joining the trainings until July 15, day in which the squad begins the second stage that will be held in Monforte de Lemos.

For the moment it isn’t know the full list of Fabril’s players that will join the trainings, for now the club has only revealed four of the names that will join the squad for the second stage: playmaker Bicho, striker Dani Iglesias, centre-back Pablo Insua and winger ’Alvaro Lemos

Players that took part of the first training practice: Aranzubia, Lux, Laure, Manuel Pablo, Ayoze, Aythami, Alex Bergantiños, Seoane, Juan Carlos, Juan Dominguez, Bruno Gama, Cañi, Ze Castro, Stefan Deák & Rochela.
