Deportivo released a list of ten young players that will join the pre-season of the first team starting on next week, from this short list Fernando Vázquez will chose four of five that will be promoted on a permanent basis.

The so expected list of Fabril’s players that will make the pre-season stage with the first team was finally released on Friday. The list is composed by ten young players, seven of them played at Deportivo B during the past season, while the other three were normal starters at the Juvenil A squad.

It was highly expected as coach Fernando Vázquez stated that four or five of these players are going to be promoted on a permanent basis to the first team, while the others could be alternating between Segunda and Depor B throughout the new season. So, the 20% of the new team for the Segunda campaign is coming out from this list.

The list is composed by goalkeeper David Gómez, centre-backs Uxío Marcos and Pablo Insua, centre midfielders Oumar Sidibé and Paulo Teles, right winger Álvaro Lemos, playmaker Javier Fernández Abruñedo ‘Bicho’, plus strikers Luis Fernández and Dani Iglesias.

A big surprise is that keeper Marc Martinez is out of the list; the Catalan was expected to be promoted on a permanent basis in order to be the second keeper at the first team. So far there’s no explanation on his absence and instead Vázquez has decided to work with David Gómez, a 19-year-old keeper that’s the big hope for the future and who has spent the last three seasons at Juvenil A making 72 league appearances at División de Honor.

The other two players from Juvenil A that will join the pre-season with the first team are Dani Iglesias and Bicho, the latter is the younger player on the list of ten players (17). Both youngsters already performed at Tercera División and that will be promoted to Deportivo B for the new season. Their presence on the pre-season stage should be understood as a proof of confidence. They have the chance to enjoy of minutes on the Segunda season, but will spend more time playing at Tercera with Fabril.

This lead to the other seven players on the list, four or five of them will get the big reward of getting a spot at the first team. Insua will surely be one of them, something already confirmed by Fernando Vázquez. The rest will have to fight for the spots during the pre-season stage.

It’s expected that Insua will be one of the four centre-backs that will perform during the Segunda season, Uxío will be playing with Depor B and will have the chance to play at the first team, though it will depend on the injuries and suspensions that could affect Vázquez’s team.

Portuguese Teles and Burkinabe Sidibé have solid options of getting a spot at the first team, mainly after it was known that Fernando Vázquez blocked the arrival of Valencia’s Portu. At this point Juan Dominguez and Álex Bergantiños are the only centre midfielders at the team, but still to be known if the club will make signings for this position.

Also solid are the options of Lemos, Romay and Luis; the attacking trio was very important for Depor B during the past Tercera season, and that’s exactly what the first team needs as currently there are only two players for the offensive positions (Bruno Gama and Juan Carlos). At least one of these three players will surely get a spot at the first team.

To mention that an eleventh player from Fabril will be training with the first team on next week; it’s the special case of playmaker Jesús Cañizares 'Cañi'. The 21-year-old playmaker was the first signing of Depor B for the new season and he’s straining since the past week with the first team just to fill up the gaps and as he was on vacations since a month ago, while the Fabril’s players were taking part of the playoffs. It’s expected that that Cañi will be stay performing for Fabril during the new season.

The numbers of the ten picked players on last season:

On Friday it was known that the club has made a second signing for the new season: left-back Aarón Rama Maceiras, a 22-year-old player that disputed 29 games at Tercera with relegated club Bergantiños CF (2,544 minutes). He was part of Juvenil A during the season 2008/09, though he only played five games with the team. The left side of the defense needed reinforcements as Ángel Martinez left the club on the past week. It was also confirmed that coach José Luis Devesa renewed his contract and will continue coaching Fabril.

At the same time, Winger Jorge Cano wrote on his Twitter account that he's leaving Fabril closing his second cycle at the club. Last season he played in 35 matches, though he was only a starter in 17 opportunities. (4 goals scored+ 5 assists)
