Fernando Vázquez already said that Pablo Insua is going to be one of the promoted players to the first team ahead of the new season, but the centre-back prefers to focus on the trainings and to fight for that spot.

The season 2010/11 was the last time in which a Fabril’s player was promoted in order to stay at the first squad on a permanent basis, the promoted youngster in that opportunity was Juan Dominguez. Three years later centre-back Pablo Insua is pushing in order to be the next one.

Coach Fernando Vázquez already stated that he will be one of the rewarded players with the promotion, after all he already played at Primera Division and Copa Del Rey during the past campaign. But the player wants to stay out of these comments and prefers to focus on the pre-season; actually the defender believes that he still needs to earn the spot.

It is what he told to journalists on Friday during a press conference, “Clearly I need to train hard in order to have some minutes, there’s a big competence and there are partners with a high level, so it won’t be easy. I believe I have the skills to compete at this level.”

“Clearly we need to keep training and I will work hard in order to gain a spot. It doesn’t matter if there’s only room for two or four players; what we need to do is to work hard in order to be part of this squad. I must think of myself and try to improve.” He added regarding the issue.

Insua also stated that there are other team mates at Deportivo B with the needed quality to end landing at the first team, “It seems that things are sorted at defense, midfield and the goal, but I believe we have enough players at Fabril to compete with them. Probably we will sign players for the offensive positions, but we also have quality players at Fabril.”
