New signing Juan Culio was presented on Thursday’s evening at Depor’s headquarters; he’s signing for one season and told to reporters that he chose to play in A Coruña, because he thinks this is a challenge.

Juan Emmanuel Culio is the third incorporation for Deportivo ahead of the season 2013/14. The Argentine winger is signing a one-year contract with the Galician club and comes for free after terminating his contract with Turkish side Galatasaray SK.

He arrived to A Coruña on Thursday’s night; on the next morning he completed the medicals and told to reporters that, “I will give everything for this shirt and will die on the pitch in order to see Deportivo La Coruña clinching the promotion to Primera.”

“This team cannot lie at Segunda División having this history. Together with my partners we will make anything possible to put Depor where it belongs. It’s very important for me to play in Spain and also to do it in a club like Depor.” The winger added.

Later, in the afternoon, the player was presented at Plaza de Pontevedra. President Lendoiro welcomed him, “We want to celebrate that Culio is here taking in mind the current situation of the club. I have the impression that this was the right decision for us. We are making solid signings. For now he signs for one year and he will be happy on here. Let’s hope it could be extended for more years. After knowing what he says and thinks, I believe this signing will bring a lot of things to the changing room.”

Meanwhile, Culio commented that, “I chose Deportivo because this is a challenge and also a great team to play. I found out a pretty city and warm people. The people from the club encouraged me since the first call. The bet on here is clear, to make a solid year and put Deportivo where it must be: at Primera. I chose this club, because is big, a club that has had great players. It was a pity the relegation, but we’ll party at the end of the year. I talked to Felipe Melo, who told me that it was pretty to live on here. I also know Javito, who’s a great person.”

The winger was even suggesting that he could play against Gil Vicente in the presentation of the team at the Riazor, “Tomorrow I will surely enjoy of minutes, though I still have to talk to the coach. If the coach needs me then I will be ready for the first matchday in liga.”
