THINKING OF CE SABADELL CF

31 Aug 2013
Culio returns and there are no injury concerns ahead of the visit to the Nova Creu Alta. Borja Bastón and Luisinho can be picked for the first time. The situation is totally different at CE Sabadell CF, because there’s a long list of injuries.

Deportivo visit CE Sabadell CF on Sunday (Nova Creu Alta, 17h00 CET). The main news at the Galician club is that Juan Culio returns after serving his suspension. There are no injury concerns at the team and the only confirmed casualty for the game is winger Álvaro Lemos, who will remain in the sidelines until next year due to a knee injury.

Striker Borja Bastón and left-back Luisinho are available for the coach and can be picked for the first time for an official match. The duo already debuted with the team during the Teresa Herrera match facing Real Madrid.

Precisely it’s expected that coach Fernando Vázquez could be repeating the starting lineup of the Teresa Herrera on this match, though there are three doubts. The first is if Luisinho could be debuting at the left-back position or if the coach will opt in replacing a right-back on that function.

The second is the central striker, Borja Bastón left a positive impression during his debut, but Fernando Vázquez could be thinking that’s too early to allow his debut in liga, so the alternative is to keep Luis Fernández in the position. Finally, Cezary Will was a starter against Real Madrid, but Álex Bergantiños also have options of picking the spot alongside Juan Dominguez.

No injury concerns after the Teresa Herrera

CE Sabadell CF had a surprising start after the demolishing 4-0 win over RCD Mallorca, but the true is that coach Javi Salamerois having big problems due to the injuries that are striking his team since the pre-season.

For the match against Depor there are five players already out for injury reasons. The first four are centre-backs Raúl Goni (knee ligaments) and Pablo Ruiz (leg fracture), plus centre-midfielder Antonio Hidalgo (Soleus) and goalkeeper Nauzet Pérez (back). This quartet already missed the first two games on the season and will be out for at least an additional month.

The fifth casualty is Juan José Collantes, the winger was dragging a muscle injury from the game against RCD Mallorca, he managed to play against SD Ponferradina, but his problem got worse and was already ruled out of the meeting against the Galicians.

Meanwhile, there are other seven men that have been dragging injuries within the last two weeks: Strikers Anibal (knee sprain) and Manuel Gato (muscular), centre midfielders Sotan Tanabe (shoulder) and Juanjo Ciércoles (knee), left-back Víctor Espasandín,  centre-back Jesús Olmo (both Achilles) and centre midfielder David Arteaga (hamstring)

Of this long list of doubtful players only Gato and Anibal have strong options of playing against Depor, this since they played against SD Ponferradina on last weekend. The other five have smaller chances, though they aren’t ruled out of the clash.
