MATCHDAY 03: LOCAL POWER

05 Sep 2013
Only Deportivo were able to win playing on the road visiting CE Sabadell CF, the other local teams were able to add points. AD Alcorcón represent the only team in the league that has won the first three matches in the competition.

Solid matchday for the locals teams, because CE Sabadell CF were the only ones that lost during the weekend as they hosted Deportivo (0-3). The rest of local teams added points and there were three big scores, including the 3-0 win of AD Alcorcón over Recreativo de Huelva. The Madrilenians are now the leaders as they are the only ones that won the first three games. They are also the only team in the league that hasn’t allowed yet any goals.

There are four teams tied with seven points, including RCD Sporting Gijón, side that trashed RCD Mallorca (3-0). CD Mirandés are having a positive start on the season and this time they defeated newcomers RC Tenerife (2-0).  Meanwhile, Girona CF and Córdoba CF could only grab a point in their home matches hosting CD Numancia (2-2) and Deportivo Alavés (1-1).

Three clubs remain without adding points in the competition; RCD Mallorca is the biggest disaster so far. For the second straight time Oltra’s team ended with nine men on the pitch and have conceded eleven goals in three matches. New comers Real Jaén suffered the other big loss playing away from home as they were easily beaten by Galician club CD Lugo (4-2).

Real Madrid Castilla is the other tram without points, in this opportunity they were close to grab a draw, but a last-minute goal by Hércules CF left the three points at the José Rico Pérez stadium (2-1). The third relegated club from Primera, Real Zaragoza, are also having a weak start and they suffered their first loss on the season visiting Barcelona B (1-0).

UD Las Palmas are still having problems, this time the Canarians were close to lose again at home before newcomers SD Eibar and only a goal in the stoppage time helped them to secure a point (1-1). Finally, Real Murcia and SD Ponferradina starred a 2-2 draw and remain at the middle of the table.
