Uxío, Cañi and Núñez are the only confirmed casualties for the visit to Alicante, while Fernando Vázquez expects that Luisinho could be available. The rival is facing injury problems; their main difficulties are located at the centre of the defense.

Deportivo are finding some relief to the injury problems lived recently at the first team ahead of the visit to Hércules CF (Rico Pérez stadium, Sunday, 12h00 CET). Centre-back Kaká has finally surpassed the adductor injury that sidelined him for the past two weeks and he already got the medical okay.

Striker Javier Arizmendi was dragging a hamstring injury from the past game against AD Alcorcón, he skipped some training sessions at the beginning of the week, but by Thursday he was already working with the group and is available for Sunday.

Meanwhile, Left-back Luisinho hasn’t trained during the week, but coach Fernando Vázquez told to reporters that the Portuguese player is going to join the trainings on Friday and that he expects the defender could be available for the trip to Alicante.

The concern right now is Carlos Marchena, the veteran centre-back didn’t train on Thursday due to a quadriceps problem; the doctors will decide on Friday if new scans will be made. So, for now the only players that are ruled out of Sunday’s meeting are centre-back Uxío Marcos plus right wingers Antonio Núñez and Cañi.

The defender coming out from Fabril hasn’t trained since suffering the nose fracture during the meeting in Copa against Córdoba CF, while Núñez remains sidelined with a Soleus injury. Cañi is out with an ankle sprain. The recovery of some of the injured men had coincided with a week in which the physical charge of the training sessions has been lowered compared to previous weeks.

Winger Álvaro Lemos already began to make some exercises on the pitch, but his return is expected to occur until next year. During the week Vázquez picked three new players from Fabril in order to train with the first team: winger Iago Beceiro, right winger Óscar Garcia and centre midfielder Ángel Fernández. Beceiro was even used at the left wing of the starting team that was tested on Tuesday, though he stayed with Fabril for Thursday, day in which Stefan Deák was picked to the trainings in order to cover the absence of Marchena.

At Hércules CF, the latest 1-5 defeat visiting SD Ponferradina has left a scar, and it’s that the team had to make a trip of 800 kilometers via bus in order to travel and return from Ponferrada. And the Valencian team returned to Alicante with two injury cases as centre-back Noe Pamarot and striker Gorka Azkorra couldn’t end the game after sustained muscle injuries. The latest scans indicate they will be out for at least two weeks.

A third injury case is right-back Juanma Ortiz, who sustained an ankle sprain during the pre-season game against Elche CF. He hasn’t debuted yet in liga and won’t be ready to play against Deportivo. The injury cases mean big problems for coach Quique Hernández.

And it’s that he only has 20 players at the first squad, which means that he will have to improvise on Sunday and pick at least one player from the B squad. The worst situation is located at the centre of the defense. There are only two centre-backs at the first team and with Pamarot injured then Hernández will have to relocate a player in that position. It’s expected that French Abdoul Sissoko is going to perform on that position, just as he did in the second half against SD Ponferradina.

At least there are good news for them as centre midfielders Javi Hervás and Héctor Font will be available for the meetings. Hervás, chosen as one of the best players at Segunda two years ago, was a last-minute casualty in the previous game due to a gastric problem, while ex-Villarreal Héctor Font is returning after been sent off in the 2-2 draw hosting RCD Mallorca.
