Fernando Vázquez recovers Luisinho and Culio for the game against Real Madrid Castilla. Wilk is doubtful after suffering a knock during the week, while Javier Arizmendi was already ruled out of the meeting.

Mixed news for coach Fernando Vázquez ahead of the home clash against Real Madrid Castilla (Sunday, 18h15 CET). First to all left-back Luisinho and playmaker Juan Culio are returning after serving their one match ban. At the same time centre-back Uxío Marcos returned to train with the first team after missing the last two games of Depor B due to a muscle problem.

The bad news is that attacker Javier Arizmendi remains sidelined with a lower lumbar injury. Vázquez confessed on Wednesday that the doctors don’t know what’s going on after the Madrilenian player failed to pass a test at the beginning of the week. He was already ruled out of Sunday’s game and will be tested again on next week.

Another problem is that Cezary Wilk remains sidelined. The Polish midfielder suffered a knock on Tuesday’s training and hasn’t trained with the group since that day. On Wednesday Depor’s coach said that the player was going to join the trainings one day later, but in the end he stayed at the gym, so he remains doubtful for Sunday’s game.

One of the news during the weeks was that Paulo Teles was tested as a starter during two training sessions. The Portuguese player was replacing Juan Carlos Real during the tests. The latter was criticized by Fernando Vázquez during his midweek press conference.

Teles and the other Fabril’s players that normally train with the first team, Bicho, Dani Iglesias, Cañi and Uxío, skipped Thursday’s session, because Deportivo B was going to play against UD Barbadás on the afternoon as part of the Tercera tournament. The exception was keeper David Muñoz, who trained with Lux and Fabricio before the game. Meanwhile, Fabril’s left-back, Aaron Rama, trained with the first team on Tuesday, this since Vázquez needed a backup as Manuel Pablo skipped the session with permission.

Real Madrid Castilla arrive to this meeting as one of the worst three teams in this century playing at Segunda División. This after only adding four points in only eleven matchdays. The true is that the team hasn’t looked so bad as the results can tell, actually six of their eight defeats were narrow losses, the other two were 0-2 defeats (At Barcelona B & at RCD Mallorca).

Coach Alberto Toril is still trying to find the right key in order to improve the results, for this game he’s dealing with two casualties due to injury reasons. The main casualty is U21 international centre-back Derik Osede, the other is left-back Joaquín Marín ‘Quini’ with a stress fracture. There are other two players in doubt as they are dragging muscle problems: striker Kiko Femenía and playmaker Borja García.
