Problems for Deportivo as it was confirmed that Wilk will not play until 2014, while Kaká and Uxío are doubtful for Sunday, at least Insua and Arizmendi are back. The rival is the leader at Segunda, but also has injury problems.

It hasn’t been an easy week for coach Fernando Vázquez as his team prepares the visit to leaders Recreativo de Huelva (Nuevo Colombino, Sunday, 12h00 CET). After receiving the news that midfielder Cezary Wilk will be out for two months due to a toe fracture, there was a mini-plague of injuries that affected the squad on Wednesday. Actually there were no enough players to make two squads for the training session and even Fabril’s keeper David Gómez ended playing as a right back (only 14 players from the first team were available).

Pablo Insua sustained a knock on his right hip during the past game against Castilla, reason by The Galician player was replaced before half-time. He was training apart during the first session of the week. Kaká also skipped the session due to a back injury. Meanwhile, attacker Rudy and centre-back Uxío Marcos were off due to a quadriceps problem

Carlos Marchena was dragging an adductor injury and also missed the session, so the four centre-backs that normally train with the first team didn’t take part Wednesday’s training. Javier Arizmendi also skipped the first session of the week after missing the games against CD Tenerife and Real Madrid Castilla due to a back problem.

Fortunately things were better one day later, because on Thursday’s session Insua, Arizmendi and Rudy were already back into the training pitch.  Marchena only completed the first part of the session, but it was only for precatory reasons. These four players should be available for the trip to Huelva.

Meanwhile, centre-backs Kaká and Uxío remained sidelined and therefore are doubtful for Sunday’s match. It’s very unlikely that both centre-backs are going to travel to Huelva, because the coach will release the list of picked players on Friday after the session that will take place at the Zona Fit gym. It opens the door to see Fabril’s Quique Fornos or Stefan Deák picked for the game as alternatives on the bench.

Kaká has been off the full week

At Recreativo de Huelva, coach Sergi Barjuán is facing the meeting against Depor after losing a second game on the league season and having three important casualties at the squad. The top-scorer of the team, winger Manuel Jesús Arana (8), is out of the clash. The former player of Racing Santander is dragging an injury since the game against RCD Mallorca; the latest scans detected a stress fracture, reason why he will be off for one additional month.

Meanwhile attacker Jonathan Valle has missed the last six matches due to a Soleus problem. He has scored twice in six games. He was already training on Wednesday, but the doctors believe it’s too soon for him and won’t be picked for Sunday’s game.

Also, playmaker Álvaro Antón, who was linked with Depor during the summer, is suspended for this game after been sent off against SD Ponferradina with two yellow cards. He’s the ninth player with more minutes on the season (732) and already scored twice.

Besides, left-back Fernando Vázquez didn’t end Wednesday’s training as he’s dragging a muscle injury. It’s expected that he could be fit to play on Sunday. Finally, right-back Daniel Cifuentes is back after missing the last two games due to a muscle elongation.
