THINKING OF RCD MALLORCA

15 Nov 2013
Fernando Vázquez is pending on the status of Laure before making the lineup for Sunday’s game. Kaká is doubtful and Juan Dominguez is already fit to play. The rival is dragging three injury cases from last season.

New  injury concern for coach Fernando Vázquez as right-back Laureano Sanabria 'Laure' got injured during the week. The Madrilenian picked the injury during the warm-up of Wednesday’s training session. The scans revealed that he's dragging an adductor injury on his right thigh. Not clear yet if he can play on Sunday. Still, it’s highly probable that he will be unavailable.

There are two confirmed casualties ahead of the home clash against RCD Mallorca (Riazor, Sunday, 12h00 CET): winger Álvaro Lemos (knee) and centre midfielder Cezary Wilk (toe fracture), both are expected to join the trainings during January.

Besides, centre-back Kaká is doubtful as he hasn’t trained during the week. The Brazilian is dragging a back problem from last week, same injury that kept him sidelined for the past match at Recreativo de Huelva. It’s very probable that Kaká won’t be fit for the weekend, so he should be the fourth casualty for the game.

The good news is that Juan Dominguez is back on training. The centre midfielder was a last-minute casualty for the match in Huelva due to a neck contracture. He only completed part of the session on Wednesday, but on Thursday he was already fine. Playmaker Juan Culio only completed part of Thursday’s training (knee), but it was a precatory measure and he should be fit to play on Sunday.

Laure got injured during the warm up on Wednesday’s training

RCD Mallorca are considered to have one of the best squads at Segunda División, but still they have been dragging important casualties on this start of season. Former Depor coach José Luis Oltra has four confirmed casualties for the meeting. Three of them are men that haven’t played on this liga campaign after sustaining injuries on the previous Primera competition.

Centre midfielder João Victor has been out for sixteen minutes with a serious knee injury that required four surgeries, luckily for the Portuguese man his comeback is expected for January. Left-back Antonio López, who was close to join Depor on last season, is also about to return after picking a knee injury. The third man on this list is striker Tomer Hemed, who should be back in December from an Achilles injury.

Last season the Israeli man was the Pichichi at the team scoring eleven goals in 37 league appearances at Primera, but later fell injured in the penultimate matchday (0-0 at Atlético Madrid) and has remained sidelined since then. The fourth man out of the match is right winger Emilio Nsue, who’s skipping the game after been picked by Equatorial Guinea for the friendly game against Spain.

There’s a morbid feeling to see Álex Geijo playing at the Riazor after his failed signing during the summer, but it may not happen as Oltra confessed on Wednesday that he’s dragging a muscle problem, reason why the striker is doubtful for Sunday. The true is that Geijo hasn’t had a good start of season after only making six league appearances without scoring goals.
