Fernando Vázquez is searching for new solutions to the scoring problems at Deportivo. During the week he has tested a 4-1-3-2 figure; it’s the fifth different system that could be used during the regular season.

The scoring problems of Deportivo are leading coach Fernando Vázquez to test all kind of alternatives in the quest for solutions. After only 13 matchdays at Segunda, plus two games in Copa Del Rey, he has already used four different schemes. From the traditional 4-2-3-1 to the 4-1-4-1, in the middle the 4-4-2 and the 5-4-1 used in Copa.

Perhaps the results were good on the away matches, but there are more doubts at the Riazor. The point is that  Deportivo have continued to face the same problem at the moment of having the ball possession: the inability to create scoring opportunities.

During the week Vázquez has tested a new solution: a 4-1-3-2 figure, once again focusing the attacks by the centre with the presence of three playmakers/offensive midfielders. And it’s that the draw allows the presence at the same time of Juan Carlos, Juan Dominguez and Juan Culio, reason why the scheme can be perfectly be named “Los Juanes”.

Vázquez also opened the debate of who should be the central attacker, this after allowing the return of Luis Fernández as a starter during the past game at the Nuevo Colombino, but it seems that the debate could end just when it started as the new scheme contemplates the presence of two attackers at the same time, reason why Borja Bastón could end up playing at the same time than Luis.

The scheme doesn’t necessary give up to attack by the sides, because this role is for the full-backs, for this reason Luisinho is delayed to the left-back position and Diego Seoane does the same at the right. Both players were wingers in the visit to Recreativo de Huelva.

It’s also taking advantage of the adductor injury of Laure, who wasn’t able to train on Friday, reason why the Madrilenian was already ruled out of the meeting. The defensive line is complemented with the presence of German Lux, Pablo Insua and Carlos Marchena.
