For the first time on the season coach Fernando Vázquez is ready to repeat the lineup in two straight liga matchdays. He already admitted that there’s a strong possibility to use the same team of last week for the visit to SD Ponferradina.

The injuries are hitting Deportivo and are affecting the plans of coach Fernando Vázquez; up to five men are missing Sunday’s game against SD Ponferradina due to this reason (Lemos, Wilk, Laure, Kaká and Antonio Núñez), but it won’t prevent to see the coach repeating the lineup of the past weekend, the same one that defeated RCD Mallorca.

First to all it is what the coach tested during the trainings on this week, and later Vázquez himself admitted it on Thursday during an interview at Radio Galega, ”There are a lot of possibilities to repeat the lineup. We are qualified to defeat Ponferradina, because we are a reliable team playing on the road.”

Curiously, Vázquez hasn’t repeated the lineup within the first fourteen matchdays of the league season, the suspensions, injuries and the change of tactic by the coach has allowed seeing a new team every weekend. Now there’s room for some continuity. Argentine German Lux and Canarian Manuel Pablo didn’t train at the beginning of the week, but they are already fine, so it’s possible to repeat the 4-2-3-1 of last Sunday.

Lux stays at the goal, Diego Seoane is the option for the right-back position, while Manuel Pablo will stay playing on the left. The central positions at defense are reserved for Pablo Insua and veteran Carlos Marchena.

Midfield will continue to be territory for Juan Dominguez and Álex Bergantiños, Portuguese Luisinho will continue to be the improvised left winger, Javier Arizmendi is performing at the right flank, Argentine Juan Culio is the playmaker and Luis Fernández will be the central attacker.

Fernando Vázquez will release the list of picked players after Saturday’s training; he will have to pick three players from Fabril in order to fill up the gaps left by the injured players. During the week seven youngsters were training with the first team, but on Friday three of them were sent back to Depor B for their Saturday’s game (Óscar García, Cañi & Fornos), so the three slots will be for the remaining four players: Bicho, Paulo Teles, Uxío Marcos and Dani Iglesias.
