Despite testing two different alternatives, Fernando Vázquez could end repeating the lineup of the past two weeks. The coach himself admitted that the tests during the trainings aren’t necessarily the selected option to be used in the next game.

Coach Fernando Vázquez tested a 4-4-2 and a 4-1-4-1 formation during this week’s trainings, the novelty was the return of Rudy, who played for the last time three weeks ago (10 minutes visiting Recreativo de Huelva).

What the coach tested was to delay the position of Luisinho allowing the appearance of the Portuguese attacker; in the option of the 4-1-4-1 Juan Dominguez was advancing his position in order to join Culio, while Manuel Pablo was sent to the bench.

In the option of the 4-4-2, Luis Fernández was sacrificed in order to allow the entry of Juan Carlos, who was performing at the right wing, while Culio was playing at the left with Rudy and Javier Arizmendi at the centre of the attack.

However, the coach himself admitted that he tests different formations during the trainings, not necessarily for the next game but for future encounters. As he said during an interview at Radio Galega, ”You must remember that I like to test alternatives during the week, but it could be for other games in the future, because I need to train them. It doesn’t mean it will be the choice for the next game.”

So, despite what Vázquez has tested during the week, it’s highly probable that he will use the same lineup that clinched the victories over RCD Mallorca and SD Ponferradina. This means a 4-2-3-1 formation with Lux at the goal, Diego Seoane performing at the right side of the defense, Manuel Pablo on the left, while Pablo Insua and Carlos Marchena cover the central positions.

Álex Bergantiños and Juan Dominguez could stay at midfield, Javier Arizmendi would keep playing at the right wing, while Luisinho does it at the left. Juan Culio should be the playmaker and Luis Fernández the central attacker.

For now the doubt is the case with right-back Laureano Sanabria ‘Laure’; he was expected to return until next week, but he already joined the trainings and today the Madrilenian could get the medical okay, meaning he could be available for the game against CD Lugo.
