ALTERNATIVES FOR SATURDAY

06 Dec 2013
Fernando Vázquez will not repeat the lineup for the fourth straight opportunity: Arizmendi will miss the game and the alternatives for Saturday’s match are Rudy and Juan Carlos. Laure could also return to the starting formation.

Javier Arizmendi will not play on Saturday against Deportivo Alavés; the doctors already  ruled him out of the game; coach Fernando Vázquez will rest him in order to avoid further complications with the sciatica injury that has been tormenting the player in recent weeks.

In this sense Depor’s coach will not be able to repeat the starting lineup for a fourth straight opportunity, this after playing with the same squad in the meetings against RCD Mallorca, SD Ponferradina and CD Lugo. During Wednesday’s training the coach tested two draws and three different alternatives for the game.

The first is a 4-1-4-1 figure, with the novelty of Rudy performing on the right wing and replacing Arizmendi, then the team was composed by the same players of the past three games. German Lux was the starting keeper; in this figure Diego Seoane covered the right side of the defense and Manuel Pablo the left, while Pablo Insua and Carlos Marchena played at the centre.

Álex Bergantiños was tested as the lonely centre midfielder with Juan Dominguez and Juan Culio acting as the playmakers, then Luisinho was tested on the left wing and Luis Fernández at the centre of the attack.

During a specific moment Fernando Vázquez tested another alternative using the same draw, the change was to introduce Laureano Sanabria ‘Laure’ at the right side of the defense and then advance the position of Diego Seoane to the right wing. It was a draw with four full-backs, similar to the squad that played at Recreativo de Huelva at the middle of November.

The second tested draw was a 4-4-2 figure. The main novelty was the introduction of Juan Carlos, who was tested on the right wing. The defensive line was the same one of the 4-1-4-1 figure with Laure performing at the right side of the defense.

Juan Carlos and Álex Bergantiños were the centre midfielders, Culio was moved to the left wing, finally Rudy and Luis Fernández were tested as the central attackers. Both draws, with its alternatives, are possible for Saturday, though Fernando Vázquez is used to test draws in midweek and then end playing with a different scheme during the weekends.
