Fabril is closer to the pit than to the promotion seats; the team had a positive start, but the results got worse at the end of October and coach Devesa hasn’t found the way to correct the problems. Currently the team has a negative streak of 7 games without wins.

Fabril have closed a disappointing first round on the Tercera season. The team coached by José Luis Devesa was, together with Pontevedra CF, the favourites to win the Galician group, but that impression only lasted during the first month in the competition.

The team begun the season as the only one clinching the victory in the first two matchdays: 1-2 at SD Grixoa and 2-1 Vs. Cultural Areas. Then it suffered the first loss visiting Arousa SC (2-0), but the team bounced back spending five straight games without defeats.

The victory over Bertamiráns FC (2-1) was followed by three consecutive 1-1draws facing Laracha CF, CD AS Pontes and Betanzos CF, then there was are refreshing 2-0 win at Abegondo over Alondras CF. At this point the B squad of Deportivo was sixth at the standings only three points behind the first place.

But the debacle landed at Abegondo after that, because the team only won one of the following eleven matches. The second defeat on the season was the 3-1 loss visiting Rápido de Bouzas, which was followed by the draws at home against CCD Cerceda (2-2) and UD Barbadás (1-1).

There was a sign of hope as the team got a brilliant 1-2 win visiting Pontevedra (November 3), but it was only a mirage as the team was unable to win since then. Depor B suffered two straight losses, firstly hosting SD Negreira (0-2) and then visiting SD Órdes (2-0).

After that the youngsters have been alternating draws with defeats, the 2-2 draw at home against CD Boiro was followed by a 3-1 loss visiting UD Somozas, then a goalless game hosting CD Dorneda, then it suffered the worst defeat on the season: a 4-1 loss visiting CD Choco. Fabril seemed to return to winning ways in the last game on the round, but a late goal only meant a point hosting Racing Vilalbés (1-1).

In this way Fabril closed the first round with only 23 points, with a mark of five victories, eight draws and six defeats. It’s the poorest mark for the team competing at Tercera División since the season 2004/05. At the time the team was coached by Tito Ramallo and got the same number of points in the first round.

Only nine of the players at the team managed to accumulate 1,000 or more minutes during the first round: David Gómez (1,620), Dani Iglesias (1,608), Oumar Sidibé (1,516), Cañi (1,378), Aarón Rama (1,199), Róber (1,185), Stefan Deák (1,173), Jorge Romay (1,113) and Ángel Fernández (1,063).

Only striker Dani Iglesias took part of the 19 matches in the first round, midfielder Sidibé got injured and skipped the last two games, so he played in 17, while keeper David Gómez and winger Cañi only missed one game.

Some players that should be important at the team as playmaker Bicho, midfielder Paulo Teles and centre-back Uxío Marcos had a discrete participation with Deportivo B, mainly as they spent more time concentrated with the first team.

The top scorer at Fabril was Iago Beceiro, who scored five goals in nine appearances with the team, Cañi is second in the list with four goals added to his tally. Striker Dani Iglesias only scored twice despite playing in all the games, though he’s the best assistor at the team with four. Four players made two assists in the first round: Aarón, Romay, Cañi and Iago Beceiro.

Those are discrete scoring numbers, but it’s the reflection of the team’s poor form. Finally, Cañi and centre-back Róber are the players with more yellow cards (3), while Romay saw two red cards, the last cost him a ban of four games.
