TACTICS: RETURNING TO THE 4-2-3-1

04 Jan 2014
Fernando Vázquez is planning to return to the 4-2-3-1 figure of the past game against CD Numancia; Antonio Núñez could be a starter for the second straight opportunity. Arizmendi could be picked for the clash against Real Jaén.

For the first game in 2014 Deportivo could present the same formation of the past game against CD Numancia. During the week coach Fernando Vázquez didn’t test any specific lineup, just a formation with ten men.

It was a 4-4-1 figure, with Borja Bastón up front and with Juan Culio and Juan Carlos Real on the playmaking tasks, however it’s expected that the final formation for Sunday’s game at the Nuevo Estadio de la Victoria will be a 4-2-3-1 scheme.

It’s expected that Antonio Núñez will play his second straight game as a starter; the Madrilenian winger left a positive impression in the last game played at the Riazor and it’s highly probable that he will perform again on the right wing.

So, it’s expected that Vázquez is going to repeat the formation of the last game of 2013. German Lux should be covering the goal, Laureano Sanabria ‘Laure’ is ready to perform at the right side of the defense, Manuel Pablo would play on the left, while the central positions are reserved for Pablo Insua and Carlos Marchena.

Álex Bergantiños and Juan Dominguez should be the centre midfielders, Luisinho is ready to perform on the left wing, Culio would play on the playmaking role despite he wants to leave the club, and Borja Bastón should be the central attacker.

On Friday Javier Arizmendi received the medical okay to play, though he remains under treatment for his Sciatica problem, therefore it isn’t clear if he’s going to be picked for the game. Once again the only Fabril’s player with options of being picked for the match is centre midfielder Paulo Teles.
