Big problems at Depor as the coach has the doubt of Insua, plus the casualties of Álex, Marchena and Laure. Currently there are only fourteen players available for Sunday. The rival arrives recovering several of the casualties had in past games.

The upcoming game against UD Las Palmas (Riazor, Sunday, 12h00 CET) is considered to be an important game facing a direct rival targeting the promotion, and coach Fernando Vázquez is having big problems to prepare the clash due to the casualties and the lack of signings.

For now there are three confirmed casualties for the game: right-back Laureano Sanabria ‘Laure’, winger Álvaro Lemos and centre-back Carlos Marchena. Laure is out after picking the fifth yellow card on the season, while Lemos remains training apart recovering from his knee injury.

Meanwhile, Marchena didn’t end Wednesday’s session due to an adductor injury, at the beginning the player himself told to reporters that it was only a precatory measure, but by Thursday the player was off from the training pitch and underwent new scans. The results were that he picked a tear in the adductor muscle of his right thigh. So, he could be out for three weeks.

And there are other two possible casualties that are sensitive cases. Midfielder Álex Bergantiños also picked the fifth yellow card on the season and the club is fighting in order to rescind the card, the first appeal was rejected by the competition committee and the club already presented a second motion to lift the ban. It’s unlikely that the appeal can be accepted, which means a big problem as the only substitute for the spot is Cezary Wilk, who isn’t ready to play for the full ninety minutes according to Depor’s coach.

The other case os centre-back Pablo Insua; the Galician defender didn’t end Thursday’s session due to hamstring problem. He’s also doubtful for Sunday’s game. The situation was so critical that on Thursday second keeper Fabricio was performing as an improvised centre-back during the training session.

At least Vázquez is recovering Luisinho, who’s returning from suspension, but if the casualties of Álex Bergantiños, Insua and Marchena are confirmed then the coach will only have fourteen players available for Sunday’s meeting, meaning he will have to fill the gaps with Fabril’s players as the expected signings haven’t arrived yet. During the week the only members of Depor B training with the team were Paulo Teles and David Gómez.

The positive news is that the players and club’s employees were already paid. On last week it was reported that they haven’t been paid for the last two months, but everything was fixed after cashing the money from Culio plus the €1 million liberated from an embargo that was released during the week. So, the situation is less tense compared to last week, actually the players celebrated the winter championship on Wednesday during a dinner paid by the club.

At UD Las Palmas, coach Sergio Lobera has missed consistency at his team after the latest results, and one of the reasons for this situation is the large number of casualties caused by the injuries and suspensions. Besides, the team will be pretty active in the market an there are players at the door out while signings are expected to occur. So, there’s an instable environment surrounding the team.

At least the situation is relieved ahead of the game against Depor, because right-back Ernesto Galán (hamstring), winger (knock) and centre midfielder Hernan Santana (knee) are set to return into the list of picked players. Also ex-Depor Aythami Artiles, who was suspended for the past game against SD Ponferradina.

For the visit to the Riazor there are only three confirmed casualties: strikers Carlos Aranda (stress fracture) and Jesús Rodríguez ‘Tato’ (muscular), plus right-back Ángel López, the latter is suspended after picking five yellow cards on the season and it’s the main casualty at the team after playing the last thirteen games in liga.

Currently the Canarian club is trying to get rid of strikers Spas Delev and Alfredo Juan Mayordomo ‘Máyor’, then the main concern is to sign another striker and a centre midfielder that can cover the position of Apoño, who is one of the key players at the team, but that misses a lot of games due to suspensions and physical problems.
