THINKING OF REAL MADRID CASTILLA

03 Apr 2014
Tough week for Fernando Vázquez with the injury cases of Insua and Álex Bergantiños plus the doubt of Sissoko. To make things worse there was an incident on Wednesday between Luisinho and Juan Carlos.

Horrible week for Deportivo; coach Fernando Vázquez is preparing the visit to Real Madrid Castilla (Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium, Saturday, 18h15 CET)  and he began the preparations losing two of the three players with more minutes due to injury reasons, both sustained during the past game against CD Tenerife.

Centre midfielder Álex Bergantiños was replaced early in the second half due to a thigh problem.  Then the scans determined that it is a grade one hamstring strain on his right leg and that the player will remain off for at least three weeks. The case of centre-back Pablo Insua was a little different. The player was dragging a muscle problem (gluteus) from last week and was doubtful until the last minute before the game against CD Tenerife.

In the end the Galician defender played the full 90 minutes, but didn’t feel fine after the final whistle. The doctors ordered scans that were made on Monday and the results determined that the player suffered a grade two muscle strain on the Obturator internus muscle of his right hip. This means the ex-Fabril defender will be off for at least four weeks.

After resting on Monday, the “plague” hit Deportivo again and on Tuesday winger/playmaker Ibrahim Sissoko didn’t end the session after sustaining a hamstring injury. The doctors determined that there’s no tear in the muscle, but the player is doubtful for Saturday.  The Ivorian trained at the gym during Wednesday and will do it again on Thursday. On Friday there will be a late test in order to determine if he will be picked for the match.

Besides, there are other two injury cases affecting Deportivo: winger Diogo Salomão (ACL) and striker Toché (pulled muscle). The Portuguese is out for the rest of the season, while the Murcian striker began to train apart on this week, but won’t be available for the weekend and it’s already doubtful for the next game hosting Recreativo de Huelva.

In this way, with four casualties already confirmed, Fernando Vázquez only has eighteen players available, and if the casualty of Sissoko is confirmed then he will need to fill the gap with a player from Fabril.

During the week five players from Depor’s academy trained with the first team: keeper David Gómez, centre-backs Stefan Deák and Hugo Díaz, playmaker Bicho plus winger Álvaro Lemos.

Hugo Díaz is 17 and is coming from Deportivo Juvenil A. He completed his first two sessions with the first team during this week, He was picked because Vázquez only had two centre-backs available and since Quique Fornos was concentrated with Spain U17 squad and also because Uxío Marcos is injured.

The only good news for Vázquez is that he’s recovering Luisinho after serving his four-match suspension. However the left-back/winger starred an incident that demonstrates the tension lived inside the team. On Wednesday, the Portuguese player fouled Juan Carlos during the training match, the youngster was lying on the ground and when he stood he was slapped in the face by Luisinho. Rabello, Juan Dominguez & Marchena calmed both players.

At Real Madrid Castilla, the team has shown an important reaction after the arrival of new coach José Manuel Díaz, but the relegation remains near as the last 0-0 draw visiting SD Ponferradina left the Madrilenian team only one point above the pit.

There are three casualties for the game against Depor: striker Kiko Femenía (knee), plus winger Rubén Belima and attacker Antonio Rozzi (both muscle problems), but the coach is recovering striker Willian José and midfielder Sergio Aguza, duo that’s returning from a suspension.

Brazilian Willian has only scored three goals on this season, but it turns out that it was a hat-trick visiting Recreativo de Huelva three weeks ago, in the following match against RCD Mallorca he was sent off  and it’s expected he could be a starter before Deportivo.
