Toché and Álex Bergantiños are returning, but Insua and Luis Fernández are once again doubtful. It has been a tranquil week for Fernando Vázquez. RCD Mallorca have the big doubt of top-scorer Gerard Moreno.

The week started with good news for Fernando Vázquez ahead of the visit to RCD Mallorca (Son Moix, Sunday, 12h00 CET). Striker Toché and centre midfielder Álex Bergantiños joined the trainings after been off within the previous three weeks. They haven’t received the medical okay to play, but the doctors believe the duo will be available for Sunday.

At the same time, Polish centre midfielder Cezary Wilk is returning from a suspension. In this way the list of available players at Deportivo was raised to 21, only winger Diogo Salomão was out injured.

So, there was a sense of relief in the coach during his mid-week press conference, which is complemented with the fact that Depor are the leaders at Liga Adelante having a six-point advantage over the third place. There was even a barbecue at Abegondo with keeper German Lux and striker Diego Ifrán as the chefs.

But the problems are back at Deportivo. Centre-back Pablo Insua returned on last week from a muscle strain on his hip, and on Wednesday he sustained a new problem in the same region, according to Depor’s coach it isn’t related to the first injury. The player left the training and worked apart during Thursday’s session. For the moment it isn’t clear if he will be available for the trip to Majorca.

And on Thursday, striker Luis Fernández sustained a sprain on his left ankle; one week before he suffered a knock in the same region during a training and the player was doubtful for the game against Recreativo de Huelva. In the end he was part of the list for the game and even played for some minutes. Now, the attacker hasn’t been ruled out of the meeting, but is doubtful.

Another novelty in the week is that there were no Fabril’s players during the training sessions; what happens is that Depor B advanced the Tercera matchday to Thursday and therefore the youngsters were preparing the game with coach Devesa.

At RCD Mallorca, the team is in the middle of a crisis. Inside and outside the pitch. New coach Lluís Carreras has been hammered after the 0-2 loss visiting SD Ponferradina and especially after he said that his team is still adapting to the league.

”Mallorca had the pressure of searching for the direct promotion, but the true is that the team is still adapting to the new league. When I arrived I established the goal of going game after game. And the goal will be switching as the matchdays go by, then we will know if we must go for the permanence or the playoffs.” He said after the latest defeat.

For the meeting against Depor, Carreras has the big doubt of Gerard Moreno, the top-scorer at the team (11 goals on this season). The striker has missed the last three games due to quadriceps injury. It didn’t look serious at the beginning, but the player hasn’t felt fine during the trainings and remains doubtful for the weekend.

Left-back Antonio López is also dragging a muscle problem, and for now the only player out for injury reasons is defender João Victor, who is in rehabilitation from a knee ligaments injury.  But there will be other casualties against Depor as part of the self-imposed measures by Carreras. Centre-back Nunes and keeper Dudu Aouate, after been considered as pillars of the project, are now sidelined.

The ex-Depor goalie has only played five games on this season, the last in March against Barcelona B and he was sent off after just five minutes. Meanwhile, the Portuguese defender has stayed out of the lineups for the past ten matchdays and clearly isn’t part of the plans of new coach Carreras.
