Luisinho and Ifrán should be available for the weekend, so Fernando Vázquez could have his 21 players ready for Saturday’s game. The rival arrives to the meeting recovering players and with the retirement of Saúl.

Short week for Deportivo; after playing on last Sunday the next game takes place on Saturday as SD Ponferradina visits the Riazor (18h15 CET). Coach Fernando Vázquez planned an intense training for Tuesday’s evening and later a recovery session for Wednesday’s afternoon.

In the end Tuesday’s session wasn’t so intense and the training on Wednesday was moved to the morning. Full-back/winger Luisinho was stretched off during the past game against RCD Mallorca after twisting his knee and it was feared the worst, but on Tuesday he was already training and therefore the Portuguese player is available for Saturday.

Striker Diego Ifrán, who on last Sunday made his debut as a starter, didn’t train on Tuesday as he was dragging a thigh injury (quadriceps). The doctors announced that he will slowly join the training sessions, but the Uruguayan completed Wednesday’s training and therefore should be available for the game against SD Ponferradina.

In this way Vázquez has 21 players available as the only casualty continues to be winger Diogo Salomão, who’s out for the rest of the season with a knee injury. During the week the only Fabril’s field player that training with the first team was winger Álvaro Lemos, though he only completed part of Wednesday’s sesión

At SD Ponferradina, coach Claudio Barragán is facing a tough second round with only 14 points added within the period, for this reason his team is only one point above the pit. One of the problems was the persistent effect of the injuries, but now the coach is finally having his full team available.

Ex-Deportivo winger Saul Fernández hasn’t played in the entire season due to nasty injuries on both ankles; on Tuesday the Asturian player announced that he needs a new surgery and therefore decided to retire at the age of 29.

The rest of the team is available for the trip to the Riazor, including centre-back Samuel San José and attacker Yuri de Souza, duo that was suspended for the past game against CD Lugo. Ex-Pontevedra Yuri is the top-scorer at the team with eleven goals scored during this Segunda season.
