Fernando Vázquez has his 21 players available for the Galician meeting with CD Lugo. Luisinho was doubtful, but the Portuguese is ready to play. The rival also has a full squad available for the match.

Bitter week for Deportivo after the big loss against SD Ponferradina. The players have been defending themselves and denying that the defeat was related to the issue of the bonuses (see related article) and are now focused in the visit to CD Lugo (Anxo Carro, Sunday, 18h15 CET).

Coach Fernando Vázquez has no injury concerns for the meeting. Luisinho skipped Sunday’s training and was unable to end Tuesday’s session due to an ankle problem picked during the last game; the doctors didn’t make scans as they preferred to wait and see how the player evolved. And the Portuguese man completed the training on Wednesday without problems, so he’s available for the weekend.

Right winger Antonio Núñez was a last-minute casualty in the last game against SD Ponferradina due to a back problem, but the Madrilenian man joined the training sessions on Tuesday and is also available for the coach.

In this way Vázquez has 21 players available for the game and winger Diogo Salomão is the only casualty at the team. The coach will have to rule out three players for the short trip to Lugo. During the week three players from Fabril training with the team: keeper David Gómez, playmaker Bicho and winger Álvaro Lemos.

At CD Lugo, coach Quique Setién has his full squad available for the match. Ex-Depor winger Pablo Álvarez returned from a muscle problem on last week, but missed the last game in Gijón after his father died on Saturday’s game.

Striker Fran Sandanza, who’s the second best scorer at the team (5), has recently returned from an ankle sprain, but had a confrontation with the coach and has been out of the list of picked players for the last three games.

There are other three ex-Depor players at this team: keeper Dani Mallo, playmaker Iván Pérez and centre midfielder Carlos Pita. Mallo has been the second keeper at the team having a decent number of games in the league tournament (13), though his only game within the last two months was the last one: 0-2 loss at Sporting Gijón.

Meanwhile, Iván Pérez and Pita are fixed starters for Setién. Pita is even the fourth player with more minutes at the team (2,763). Iván Pérez was a regular starter recently, though he wasn’t picked for the visit to Sporting Gijón.
