Deportivo could make the first two signings on next week; the arrivals of José Carlos and Roberto Canella can take place on the first days of next week. The club is also searching for a centre back, at least two midfielders and two attackers.

It’s hard to predict the signings that Deportivo will make ahead of the next Primera season; the media has reported that the club is searching for a centre-back, two centre midfielders and two attackers. However, it’s something that can change depending on the renewals that the club is negotiating, after all 10 of the 22 players are ending their link on June 30.

For example, the situation at the goal. The club is negotiating the renewal of Lux, but if it fails then Deportivo will have to sign a goalkeeper, and two names have been linked with the club: Daniel Aranzubia and Sevilla’s Javi Varas.

But the club is closer to sign two players at other positons: left-back Roberto Canella and playmaker/winger José Carlos. Several sources reported during the Friday that these two players can be signed early on next week.

Canella is 26 and it was chased by Depor in the past, and it’s now closer to arrive after Sporting Gijón failed to clinch the promotion to Primera. The Asturians will have less money in the budget on next season and need to get rid of several players, among them the left-back, who’s one of the players with the biggest wages.

The operation is a loan deal for one year with a buyout option of €1 million. It has been reported that Depor are paying the full wages of the defender. Sporting wanted that Deportivo were going to be forced to execute the option at the end of the season, but Depor wanted that it should be optional. In the end the opinion of the Galicians prevailed and it’s expected the deal could be signed on Monday or Tuesday.

The case of José Carlos is simpler; the 26-year old player is ending his contract with Rayo Vallecano; he received a renewal offer, but rejected it. La Voz de Galicia reported last week that Depor and the player already had an agreement and that the only pending issue was the medicals. José Carlos is a skilful player that can perform on the wings and also at the playmaking function; he only played 124 minutes on last season due to a serious knee injury.

Deportivo were also linked with other players, but in these cases the negotiations are stuck for several reasons. It is the cases of strikers Tomer Hemed (27, RCD Mallorca) and Marco Paixão (29, Śląsk Wrocław), plus Serbian centre-back Aleksandar Pantić (22, Villarreal CF).
