The new season begins with Deportivo having eighteen players at the first team, the club is still trying to hire new players and some exits are expecting to occur. The future of some players at Fabril is another pending issue.

The season 2013/14 legally ended on June 30. Since July 1st the number of players at Depor’s first team is 18. There are two players that ended their contracts with the club on Monday: centre-back Carlos Marchena and right winger Antonio Núñez. The duo won’t continue ahead of the campaign 2014/15.

At the same time four players are returning to their parent clubs after ending their loan spells: playmakers Ibrahim Sissoko and Bryan Rabello, left winger Diogo Salomão and striker Diego Ifrán. It still possible that some of them, or even the four players, can return to Depor for the new season, but for now nothing is sealed.

Finally, there are two players returning to Depor after ending their loans: winger Rudy and centre midfielder Paulo Teles. Their future isn’t certain and in the case of Portuguese Teles, he still counts as a Fabril’s member.

Coach Fernando Vázquez has said that he wants a short squad with 18 members plus the keepers; he currently has 18 men including the goalies, but the true is that a lot still to be done as the club is still trying to hire a centre-back, a couple of midfielders, two wingers and two attackers. So, it’s expected that Depor will try to complete at least seven more signings after the arrival of Roberto Canella, which will also drag some exits.

Also, Deportivo are still pending to resolve the future of the academy players that have the chance to be promoted to the first team. It is the case of playmaker Bicho, right winger Álvaro Lemos and striker Dani Iglesias. It is expected that they could be loaned out, and in the case of Bicho, he could end transferred after been linked with a move to FC Barcelona.

The coach was expecting to have big part of the squad ready for the start of the pre-season, which begins in two weeks. So, the negotiations should be more intense in the coming days.

The current squad of Deportivo:
Goalkeepers: Lux & Fabricio
Defenders: Manuel Pablo, Laure, Luisinho, Seoane, Canella, Insua & Lopo
Midfielders: Juan Domínguez, Álex Bergantiños, Wilk, Rudy & Juan Carlos
Attackers: Arizmendi, Borja Bastón, Luis Fernández & Toché
