TELES IS UPSET WITH FERNANDO VÁZQUEZ

04 Jul 2014
Sergio Teles is upset with coach Fernando Vázquez. During an interview with Deporte Campeón, he explained his reasons, later he clarified that he wants to succeed at the club, but not under the supervision of Vázquez.

Strong words from Sergio Teles during an interview with journalist Rubén García from Deporte Campeón. The Portuguese midfielder, who has a contract lasting until 2019, didn’t like the way the club treated him and especially the lack of confidence from coach Fernando Vázquez.

For this reason he doesn’t want to make the pre-season with the first team. During the interview he explained his reasons, “I didn’t feel loved by the coach and neither by the club’s officials. The day of the promotion all the players from the club were called one after the other and the exception was me. I had to enter with the doctors. It was something ugly no matter they are angry with me or not.”

Beyond a problem with the club, the issue is with current coach Fernando Vázquez, “I don’t want to return to Depor with Fernando [Vázquez] staying there. He told me that he was counting with me at the beginning of the season, but he only wanted me to fill a spot. Fernando Vázquez has simply dicked me around.”

The Portuguese midfielder also said that he has offers in order to play loaned in other countries, “I’ve offers from Greece, Portugal and Spain, but nothing is decided yet. I only know that I won’t continue at Depor. I don’t just want to be one more player at Deportivo and my moment will come. I don’t want to take part of the pre-season.”

There were many comments after the interview was released and Teles clarified on his Twitter account that his anger is against the coach and now against the club, “None of my words was against Deportivo; I simply said that won’t return as long as Fernando Vázquez stays, because I have a contract and I want to stay at Depor.” He wrote on Thursday’s evening.

It wasn’t expected that Teles was going to play with the first team during last season, but the injuries forced Vázquez to pick him up in fourteen opportunities during the first round in liga, playing four times and even performing as a starter against UD Las Palmas (1-2, matchday 22). He demonstrated that he can be an accurate player with his passes, just to remember that he made two assists in the Copa endless match against Córdoba CF (September 11).  The pity is that after the arrival of the winter signings he was loaned to Segunda B club CD Guijuelo, place where he was wasted after only playing in eight games.
