The first two Deportivo’s signings ahead of the season 2014/15 were presented on Tuesday. Both Isaac Cuenca and Roberto Canella were introduced to the fans by president Tino Fernández.

Roberto Canella and Isaac Cuenca, the first two signings for the new season, were presented on Tuesday. The act took place at the Deportienda. President Tino Fernández welcomed them and announced that this is the first of many presentations, though he didn’t give more details.

“We are convinced that both players are going to be happy in A Coruña and hope they could extend their career at the club. There will be more presentations, but must remain calm, because things in the market are like this.” The president said.

The act was also used to present the second kit for the first time. The three kits are expected to be presented to the public during the week, though the draws were already released. Around 200 fans  were present during the act.  Both players arrive for one year, with Canella signing as part of a loan deal with Sporting Gijón and Cuenca as a free agent.

Canella was the first one that addressed the media; he said that Depor was his first option, “They asked me if I wanted to wait a little longer, because a team wanting to sign a final transfer could show up, but I didn’t do it. Deportivo is a good team, a historic club like Sporting. I came here willing to do a good job and to clinch the permanence, which is we all want.”

The left-back also denied any problem after the rivalry between Depor and Sporting during last season, “For my side, everything is forgotten. It’s in the past. Now I defend the shirt of Deportivo and will defend it until death. What happened between Sporting and Depor remains in a second level.”

Later Cuenca explained his previous experience at Depor after been at trail when he was younger, “I came when I was little in order to pass some tests. I played in a couple of games for five minutes and thought: I don’t think it will last too long, so I returned home.”

He also explained why he only signed for one season, “The idea is to demonstrate that the knee is fine. It’s the reason why I only signed for one season. Later we can see what happens and it will depend of we clinch the goals.”
