Luis Fernández is the first player that leaves the concentration with the first team after CD Lugo and Depor agreed a loan deal lasting one season. The striker scored five goals in his debuting campaign with the team.

First outcome in the operation departure at Deportivo: striker Luis Fernández has been loaned out to Segunda club CD Lugo. The operation was negotiated within the last weeks and was closed on Thursday. He will play loaned there during the campaign 2014/15.

The deal was officially announced on Friday and the player, who didn’t took part of the training sessions on Thursday and Friday, traveled to Lugo in order to sign the papers. Depor expect the player can have the minutes he won’t have on this Primera season.

Luis was promoted to the first team on last season; he and Pablo Insua were the only ones that completed the move despite the comments of previous coach Fernando Vázquez. He was 20 at the time and it was a bittersweet experience for him. The attacker was a regular participant in the first stretch of the season, but later was normally out of the games after the coach had up to six strikers available.

After playing in the first 23 liga matchdays, the Burela-born attacker only made three more appearances as a starter within the last 19 Segunda games, all of them replacing an injured partner. Still, he was Depor’s second best scorer in liga (5) despite been the player with more appearances coming out from the bench (19).
