Deportivo returned from Colombia with three new injury cases: Pablo Insua, Álvaro Queijeiro and Juan Carlos. Totally nine players are dragging physical problems, though none of them are serious cases.

On Monday, the club reported three new injury cases that hit the team during the Colombian tour: playmaker Juan Carlos (grade one muscle injury, psoas), centre midfielder Álvaro Queijeiro (hamstring strain) & centre-back Pablo Insua (grade one muscle injury, hip).

The trio will surely miss the games in Portugal against Académica de Coimbra and SC Braga, in the case of Queijeiro he could be out for two or three weeks. These three new cases are raising the number of players dragging injury problems to nine.

However, all the cases aren’t serious injuries and in some cases the players will return to train today. Centre midfielder Cezary Wilk was dragging a calf injury from last season and has been working apart since the first day of the current pre-season. The Polish player will join the trainings on Tuesday.

Lucas Pérez was unlucky enough to suffer an injury in his first day with the team. The third signing for the season sustained an ankle sprain and was left out of the squad traveling to South America. At the beginning it was commented that the winger was going to be off for two weeks, but in the end the player is joining the trainings today. German Lux had to be replaced early in the game against Independiente de Santa Fé due to a thigh problem. The Argentine goalie is already recovered and will join the trainings on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, there are two players that will remain off: wingers Isaac Cuenca and Diogo Salomão. The scans confirmed that Cuenca suffered a grade one muscle injury on the quadriceps muscle of his left leg. He could be back on next week. Then Salomão is still recovering from his knee injury and will join the trainings until September.

In this way five players are already ruled out of the two friendly games in Portugal scheduled for the end of the week: : playmaker Juan Carlos centre midfielder Álvaro Queijeiro, centre-back Pablo Insua plus wingers Isaac Cuenca and Diogo Salomão.
