THINKING OF LEVANTE

21 Sep 2006
Depor will face its fourth liga match of the season at the Ciutat de Valencia. Levante is returning to Primera after spending only one year in Segunda. Molina and C?sar signed for them during the summer, but it seems that they won't play the match.

Levante's coach, Juan Ram??n L??pez Caro, was living a tough situation. With two defeats in the first two games, he was appointed as the first candidate to be fired in Primera, but the 0-1 victory in Huelva against Recreativo has given him some room to breath. L??pez Caro will probably trust in the same eleven that achieved this three points although he has the doubt of Ze Mar?a.

Cavallero will probably start on this match and Francisco Molina will continue to be on the bench, the ex-Depor player hasn't debuted yet with Levante. C?sar will probably miss the match too, but for different reasons: he is injured. The same happens with Ze Mar?a and Deh?? who didn't train with the squad. Ze Mar?a was a starter against Recreativo and L??pez Caro will have to decide who could replace him.

Other player that was a starter on the past match is Laurent Courtois, the French man commented that his team has more confidence playing away than at home: "I believe that we could made a better offensive job against Recreativo, we feel more confidence playing as visitors, that's because we are just waiting the rival and we are happy because we knew how to defend ourselves." He had also some words to describe Deportivo: "It's a young rival that possess a competitive spirit."

Miguel Angel Ruiz was another person that talked about this confrontation, he is the Levante's official that accused Enrique Romero two years ago, he said that the defender had an agreement with Mallorca in order to lose a crucial liga match. Mallorca was needing the points at the Riazor in order to save its place in Primera, and they achieve the mission with a 0-3 score, a result that left Levante in a complicated situation and that cost their relegation at the end of the tournament.

Ruiz was condemned to paid €30,000 to Romero in a civil court for his public declarations, now he says that the problem was with the player and not with the club: "The past is in the past. I prefer not to remove this things. But the problem was with a player, Romero, he isn't in Deportivo anymore, I don't have any problem with that club." Ruiz also said that he isn't expecting any retaliation from the public against the Galician squad: "Depor deserves our respect because what happened is something related to one single player, it's the past and belongs to another liga. It cost us the relegation, but we already passed trough the purgatory in Segunda. The important thing is the present, and to achieve those three points."

Meanwhile, Deportivo started yesterday to prepare the clash with Levante. The players didn't train in Abegondo since Hurricane Gordon was menacing to pass trough Galicia. Instead, Deportivo trained in a closed installation (INEF). In the beginning, it's expected that Caparr??s will use the same lineup that achieved the three points against Villarreal.

BODIPO GOES TROUGH SURGERY
Yesterday Rodolfo Bodipo went trough surgery in Madrid. He broke a ligament in his right knee during Thursday's game against Laracha. After the incident, he was taken to hospital Modelo in Valer??n's car. There the seriousness of the injury was diagnosed. The striker traveled to Madrid and he was operated in  hospital Cemtro, the surgery was directed by doctor Pedro Guill?n, the same one that operated Valer??n  a few months ago. It's expected that he will miss the hole season.

ACU?A WANTS A SOLUTION
Yesterday it was also know that Roberto Acu?a presented his case to the Comission of Mediation and Arbitration  (SMAC). His lawyer, Miguel Juane, said that the decision was taken since Acu?a believes that "the exclusion from the Galician squad is affecting the last years of his career". Coach Caparr??s discarded the Paraguayan midfielder during the pre-season, and Lendoiro agreed to cancel his contract during the last days of the summer market.

But there was a dispute about the amount of the cancellation and also about the terms of the payment. Now Acu?a is taking the case to the SMAC, a commission that will try to mediate in this conflict. If there's no agreement, then Acu?a will probably take his case to a civil court.

Acu?a himself explained his reasons to newspaper La Opini??n: "I hope that now the case will be resolved, I never wanted to create troubles. My idea was to left Deportivo in the best way possible. I don't want to steal anything, I just want what's mine." He also thanked Caparr??s for letting him train with the squad: "The relationship with the coach is great, and I am happy since he has left me train with the group. I want to reach an agreement as soon as possible."
