Fabril begins its Tercera season on Sunday. New coach Manu Mosquera has a similar team to the one of last campaign, there are only four signings and three promoted players from Juvenil A. The goal is to fight for the promotion places.

New season for Deportivo B playing at Tercera División. As always the goal is to fight for the first four places and the team is one of the favourites at group one together with Pontevedra CF. Last season it was the same and turned to be a disaster as the B team of Depor didn’t qualify to the playoffs.

Now the team is coached by Manu Mosquera, a former player of Deportivo that knows pretty well the league as last campaign he coached Laracha CF. Former coach José Luis Devesa is now part of the scouting system.

Despite last season’s disappointment there are little changes at the squad. The main casualty is the exit of playmaker Jorge Romay, who went to Austria. So far the club has only made four signings for Fabril, while three players were promoted from Juvenil A.

The four signings made so far are centre-back Iago López, left-back Jorge Fernández, centre midfielder Santi Taboada and South Korean left winger Kim Woo Hong. The three promoted players from Juvenil A are centre midfielder Gabi Sanin, plus attacker Juan López and Samu Rodriguez. Still, at least one more signing is expected as the team needs a striker.

The base of the squad in this new season should be on centre-backs Róber and Iago López, centre midfielders Adrián Martinez, Ángel Fernández and Álvaro Queijeiro, playmaker Marcos Remeseiro, winger Miguel Cardoso and striker Dani Iglesias.

Fabril’s squad seems to be already balanced, but there’s a problem in attack, at least for the coming months. Álex Pérez is out with a knee injury and won’t be available until the end of the year, which leaves Dani Iglesias as the only centre forward at the team. And currently he’s out injured. Coach Mosquera said during the week that the striker won’t be available for the opening game against CD As Pontes (Abegondo, Sunday, 12h00 CET).

So, the coach will have to improvise with Remeseiro, who last season played a lot of games as a “false nine”, actually he ended as the top-scorer at the team. For this reason the club has had players on trial in recent weeks, one of them is African attacker Keita, who scored twice within the last two friendly matches. The coaching staff must now decide if he will be signed or not. The club has been also testing wingers and offensive midfielders, which are positions they will also like to reinforce.

During the week coach Mosquera talked to Radio Marca and explained what the fans should expect from his team, “The playing style won’t change compared to what I was doing at Laracha. I like to start from the ball possession, but in the sense that if you have the ball more time then you will do more things in order to win. Sometimes to have the ball it doesn’t mean that you are the best. The important thing is to have the ball in order to damage the rival. We will have the ball, firstly for the lads that I have, lads that were captured due to their talent. We must develop their challenge through the ball possession.”

“Later there’s another thing: the pace, the pressure and the intensity. Those factors must be present even before jumping into the pitch. The players must have the feeling that they can win and that cannot allow the rival to breathe. I believe we will see a Fabril that will put pressure to the rival since the start. We are working on that. I want to see a competitive Fabril.” He added.
