Four players are doubtful at Deportivo after a long pause of fifteen days. The club played two friendly games in order to continue with the adaptation process of the new signings.

Atypical week at Deportivo, because the team returns to action fifteen days after the last official meeting. After the international break, Depor have to wait until Monday in order to play the third matchday in liga visiting SD Eibar (Ipurúa, 20h45 CET). There was even time to rest on Friday, an unseen thing in recent years during the regular competition.

The long wait was used by the club to schedule two friendly games, one of them took place on Thursday visiting Arosa SC. It’s helping to accelerate the adaptation of the last signings, mainly the ones hired on deadline day.

For the moment there’s only one player out for injury reasons: Diogo Salomão (knee). However, coach Víctor Fernández has four doubts for the game. The main one is centre-back Pablo Insua; the Galician player has been rested all week long after been dragging an ankle injury. He will be assessed during the weekend and it isn’t clear if he will be available.

Meanwhile, winger Lucas Pérez returned to train on this week after missing the two first liga meetings due to a quadriceps injury, but the Galician player was rested on Thursday and hasn’t received the medical okay to play, so he remains doubtful and it looks improbable that he could be picked for Monday’s game.

There were no fresh injuries from the friendly game against Arosa SC, but on that same day winger Isaac Cuenca didn’t end the training session due to an ankle knock, while playmaker Luis Fariña didn’t train due to a muscle problem (hip). Both players will be assessed during the weekend in order to determine if they will be picked for the match.

The four signings made on deadline day, Modibo Diakité, Sidnei Rechel, Juanfran Moreno and Hélder Postiga are available and ready to debut. During the week, Víctor Fernández said that the quartet is fit to play, though he also admitted it would be a risk to put the four of them to compete at the same time.

At SD Eibar, coach Gaizka Garitano has a full squad available for the match. He doesn’t have injury concerns and neither faced casualties due to the international break. The novelty on the week was the presence of Serbian striker Dejan Lekić, who was signed on deadline day.

Lekić already debuted with SD Eibar after scoring one of the goals in the 2-1 win over AD Alcorcón, friendly match played on last week. It still to be seen if Garitano will make changes after using the same lineup in the first two matchdays.
