Coach Víctor Fernández already used 22 of the 25 players at the first team. Manuel Pablo, Diego Seoane and Diogo Salomão are pending to debut in a team that has had several rotations after eleven matchdays.

During the previous break in la liga it was reported that Deportivo was one of the Spanish clubs that had used the lesser number of players in the league competition. More specifically coach Víctor Fernández had only used nineteen players after the first seven matchdays, which represented the second lowest mark in the league at the time.

Now the situation has changed a lot, because the coach made up to two “revolutions” at the starting eleven first for the home clash with Valencia CF (matchday 08) and later in the last game visiting Córdoba CF (matchday 11). It meant to increase the number of used players to twenty-two. It’s the fifth highest mark in la liga, only below Levante UD (25), Rayo Vallecano (24), Athletic Club Bilbao (23) and Granada CF (23).

The last three players that got their first minutes on the season were goalkeeper Fabricio Agosto, playmaker Juan Carlos Real and winger Lucas Pérez. The three men pending to debut on this campaign are right-back defender sManuel Pablo and Diego Seoane plus left winger Diogo Salomão.

The first two men on this short list aren’t part of the coach’s plans, with the special case of Manuel Pablo, who is acting more as a second coach, while Portuguese Salomão has been injured and is now available.

It’s highly probable that all the players at the first team are going to have some minutes by the month of December, because the team will play five matches in a matter of three weeks due to the debut in Copa Del Rey, it’s even probable to see some Fabril’s lads debuting, mainly as the team is dragging several injury cases that won’t be sorted until next month.

Juan Carlos was the 22nd player to debut on this season (Vs. Valencia CF)

The “revolution” ordered by Víctor Fernández has meant to see normal starters like right-back Laureano Sanabria ´Laure’ and goalkeeper German Lux ending on the bench.  Thus only three players have participated in all the eleven matchdays played so far: midfielder Haris Medunjanin, left-back Luisinho and attacker Iván Cavaleiro.

Nobody has been a starter in all the games, in the case of Medunjanin he’s the player with more minutes (900) and the only match in which he entered as a substitute was in the opening clash against Granada CF, this since he landed at the club only a couple of days before the match.

In the case of Luisinho he has only played one less minute than the Bosnian and his only game as a substitute was against Rayo Vallecano (matchday 02). Cavaleiro has lesser minutes (621) as he has been a substitute in five opportunities.

There are also the special cases of centre-back Sidnei Rechel (810) and winger/defender Juanfran Moreno (735). The duo has played as starters in all the games since their arrival to the club (before matchday 03). Argentine Luis Fariña is the other player that has been a starter in nine opportunities (704). The playmaker has missed the last two games due to injury reasons.

On the other side of the list, the three players with lesser chances have been centre-back Modibo Diakité, winger Lucas Pérez and playmaker Juan Carlos. The first one only played for 90 minutes in the heavy loss against Real Madrid, Lucas only enjoyed 76 minutes distributed in two games and Juan Carlos only played for 32 minutes in the big win over Valencia CF.

Other four players are having less opportunities of what could be expected: left-back Roberto Canella (325), striker José Verdú ‘Toché’ (327), plus midfielders Cezary Wilk (340) and José Rodríguez (355).

Canella hasn’t earned the confidence of the coach as he has preferred the option of Luisinho, the same can be said about Toché, who has been affected by the arrival of Hélder Postiga on deadline day.  In the case of Wilk and José Rodriguez, Víctor has alternated their presence at the teams, the Valencian lad was a preferred choice in the first matches,  but now he’s out as the Polish man is a starter.
