Coach Víctor Fernández has been testing a lineup with three centre-backs for the home meting against Real Sociedad. Cavaleiro and Cuenca are set to start in attack, while Postiga will miss the game due to suspension.

Either caused for the injuries or as a new twist in the plans of the coach, the point is that Deportivo are preparing a new lineup for the home clash against Real Sociedad. Víctor Fernández has been testing since Tuesday a 5-3-2 draw, which means to play with three centre-backs, two full-backs, three centre midfielders and two attackers.

On Wednesday’s session, held behind closed doors at the Riazor, he tested two variants with the same scheme. In both alternatives the three centre-backs were the same: Sidnei Rechel, Albert Lopo and Pablo Insua.  The trio at midfield was also the same: Cezary Wilk, Haris Medunjanin and Juan Dominguez.

What changed were the other four positions. Luisinho, Laure and Juanfran Moreno were alternated in the full-back roles, while Isaac Cuenca, Luis Fariña and Iván Cavaleiro were tested for the two positions upfront.

The coach did the same tests during Thursday’s training at Abegondo, with the difference that Fariña wasn’t part of the plans as he was working sidelined. The Argentine will probably miss the clash. The other two players out for injury reasons are left-back Roberto Canella (Soleus) and winger Lucas Pérez (knee).

Striker Toché will receive today the medical okay to play, while Hélder Postiga, who joined the trainings on Thursday, will be available too. The appeal committee surprisingly accepted the summit of the club and lifted the second yellow saw against Córdoba CF.
