DEPOR'S PLAYERS IN INTERNATIONAL DUTY

06 Oct 2006
Six players are participating with their national squads during the following four days. The best news is that Capdevila has returned to Spain's national team and it seems that he will be a starter in today's game against Sweden. That match is crucial in the way to the EURO 2008. Aouate is other player that will participate in this eliminatory.

Joan Capdevila and Dudu Aouate are the two players that are facing the most important challenges. The Catalan defender will be part of the 'revolution' in Spain after a disappointing start in the eliminatory. Coach Luis Aragon?©s will introduce four changes to the squad that will face a crucial test against Sweden in Stockholm, and Capdevila is one of them.

Spain is in a difficult situation after an unexpected defeat against Northern Ireland (2-3), Spain is sixth in the group F with only three points, and a win will give more serenity to a squad that has been severely criticised during the last days. The expected lineup for this match is: Casillas - Sergio Ramos, Juanito, Puyol, Capdevila - Angulo, Albelda, Iniesta, Fabregas - Fernando Torres, David Villa.

Aouate will also play an important game in the road to the EURO 2008. Israel is optimistic about their possibilities and shares group E first place with England after two victories in the same number of matches. Now, they have to face a tough challenge: Russia at Moscow. A win or even a draw will increase the chances of Israel in order to play for the first time in the final tournament.

Fabricio Coloccini and Julian de Guzm??n will participate in friendly matches with their national teams. Argentina will face Spain on Wednesday and Coloccini might play against his team mate Capdevila, this game will take place in Murcia. Meanwhile, De Guzm??n will play with Canada in Sunday's friendly game against Jamaica.

Finally, the Spanish youngsters Javier Arizmendi and Antonio Barrag??n were concentrated with the U-21 squad during yesterday's 0-0 draw against Italy in Modena. This game was the first-leg eliminatory in the play-offs for the European Championship that will take place in the Netherlands during June of the next year. Spain has now the advantage since they will face Italy once again on Tuesday, this time the game will be played in Palencia and with the support of the Spanish fans, a victory will give the pass to the final tournament.

Arizmendi played as starter against Italy, the Madrilian striker performed as right winger, a position that he has been occupied in Deportivo during the last weeks. Depor's player had a poor performance since his work was constantly blocked by the Italians. He was replaced by Cazorla at minute 76th. The hero of this match was Miguel Angel Moya, the Mallorca keeper saved his team in several occasions during the last minutes of the game. Meanwhile, Barrag??n didn't participated in the match, although he should be happy since its the first time that he has been called up to the U-21 squad. The starting lineup presented by coach I?±aki Sanz was: Moya - Fla?±o, Melli, Albiol, Garrido - Arizmendi, Zapater, Ra??l Garc?a, Silva, Gavil??n - Kepa.
