Postiga and Fariña are the two casualties for the game against Rayo Vallecano. It’s expected that Celso Borges will be available. At Rayo, top-scorer Baptistão will miss Friday’s match.

Another short week for Deportivo as the next game takes place this Friday visiting Rayo Vallecano (Estadio de Vallecas, 20h45 CET). As it has been common within the last three weeks, coach Víctor Fernández used Monday’s session as a training game between the substitutes of the last liga meeting facing a team with players from Depor B and Juvenil A.

On Tuesday the team trained the set-pieces and on Wednesday there was a tactical session for the group. The only player that remains out injured is striker Hélder Postiga. He is still recovering from a groin surgery and could join the trainings on next week.

The second casualty for the match is playmaker Luis Fariña, the Argentine was sent off in the game against Granada after slapping a rival. He received a two-match suspension, meaning to miss this game and the home clash with SD Eibar.

The rest of the team is available. The Spanish Federation already received the work permit of midfielder Celso Borges and the paperwork should be ready before the game, so the Central American will finally have the chance to debut. Striker Toché picked a knee knock during the past game with Granada CF, but by Tuesday he was already fine.

At Rayo Vallecano, the Madrilenian team is trying to return to winning ways after the defeat with Atlético Madrid and after suffering four straight home defeats in all competitions (three in liga and one in Copa Del Rey). Coach Paco Jémez is having casualties for the game, but not so many as the ones had during last weekend.

Two players are already out of the game: right-back Román Triguero, 'Tito' (adductor) and playmaker Leo Baptistão (stress fracture). The latter is very important as he has scored 7 of the 21 goals on the season (33% of the total).

But the coach is recovering full-backs Emiliano Insúa and Quini, the first wasn’t available to face Atlético as this is his parent club, while the second was suspended. Goalkeeper David Cobeño is also available after surpassing a muscle injury.

Rayo Vallecano haven’t completed any signing during the winter window. Currently they are negotiating the loan of Atlético’s attacker Ángel Correa, move that should be finalized in the coming hours, though the game against Depor is coming too soon to see him debuting.

Besides, they could be forced to make a late move as centre-back Jorge Morcillo has been linked with a move to Real Betis. Jémez said during the weekend that they will only allow the exit of the centre-back if someone covers his spot first. Meanwhile winger Lass was loaned to Granada CF (he played against Depor on Sunday).
