Cavaleiro is the first Depor’s player to earn twice the award of player of the month during this season. The Portuguese attacker continued to be the main threat up front. He scored the winning goal against Athletic Club.

Iván Cavaleiro is the RCDLC.com player of January. Within the last two months the Portuguese attacker, acting now as the normal left winger in the formations of Víctor Fernández, has turned into the main reference in the attacks by Deportivo.

During January the Benfica loanee was elected as the best man in the matches against Athletic Club and Levante UD, in the first one he scored the winning goal and in the second he was pretty active, though it was a goalless game.

In general, January was a good month for Deportivo, with the team only suffering one defeat and collecting eight points in five games. So it was a month with rewards for everyone. The second most voted man was a defender: Sidnei Rechel. The Portuguese is now the base of the defense and was chosen as the best man in the defeat against FC Barcelona despite the four goals allowed.

The third man with move votes was Fabricio Agosto, who clinched two clean sheets and was elected as the second most voted man in the meetings against Athletic Club and Granada CF.  Álex Bergantiños returned into the lineups and was also noticed by the peña members and ended adding nine points, included to be named the best player in the clash against Granada CF.

New arrival Celso Borges was the fifth man with more votes tied with José Rodríguez, and this taking in mind that he only played once in the month. It’s the result of his impressive debut against Rayo Vallecano, which included scoring a brace.
