Víctor Fernández is trying to hide his plans ahead of the derby. Still, it’s expected to see a similar lineup to the one of previous weeks. The main doubt is who will play at the right wing.

A special game needs special measures. During the week coach Víctor Fernández has been trying to hide the plans for the Galician derby (Saturday, 22h00 CET). First to all, he asked journalists to arrive twenty minutes later to the trainings, in this way he could prepare the lineups without been covered by the media.

Later he was testing different things during the sessions. For example in one of the tests the Aragonian coach was playing with Laure at the left-back position, something that won’t be seen on Saturday as the Madrilenian defender is suspended. Another unusual tests were to see Manuel Pablo at the right, Pablo Insua at the centre of the defence and Haris Medunjanin on the left wing.

The expected thing is that Víctor will present a 4-2-3-1 team similar to the one seen in previous weeks, there will be changes compared to the team that played at the Bernabéu, because Sidnei Rechel and Juanfran Moreno are available and have big chances of been starters at defence.

The main doubt is who is going to perform on the right wing. José Rodríguez earned the spot at the end of 2014, but hasn’t played within the last two weeks as he was suspended for the home clash with SD Eibar and later was ineligible against Real Madrid. Isaac Cuenca was the starter on the right wing in both games and left a positive impression at the Bernabéu, so Víctor has to decide if he prefers a more balanced draw with Rodriguez or a more offensive approach using Cuenca.

For the game against Real Madrid the coach only had 17 players available and had to pick David Gómez from Depor B in order to fill the gap, but with the recovery of Juanfran, Sidnei, José Rodríguez and Insua he will now have to rule out three men before the game.

Still, there’s a shortage at the team as, with the injuries of Toché and Hélder Postiga, the only natural centre forward is Oriol Riera, though Iván Cavaleiro might be used in the position if it’s necessary.

Riera has played six games with Depor on this season and is still looking for his first goal. On Friday the Catalan told to reporters that he doesn’t feel anxious, ”I’m feeling fine and even better prepared than last year. I am missing the goal, but don’t feel anxious. I’m feeling eager to score, but don’t feel the anxiety of other moments in my career.”
