Step back in the fight for the promotion. Órdenes played an intelligent game while Dani Iglesias and especially Miguel Cardoso missed clear chances to cancel the early goal.

For the first time on the season coach Manu Mosquera was having all his team available for a league meeting. He always had some casualties due to injury reasons, but this time everybody was fine, including centre midfielder Santi Taboada, who was out with a muscle problem and that returned to the bench.

The lineup was a 4-2-3-1. David Gómez was the goalkeeper, Adrián Martínez was playing at the right-back position, Jorge Fernández performed on the left, the centre-backs were Iago López and Róber. Sam Piette and Álvaro Queijeiro were the centre midfielders, Cańi was performing on the right wing, Miguel Cardoso was the left winger, Marcos Remeseiro was the playmaker and Dani Iglesias was the centre forward.

The rival was SD Órdenes, team that’s trying to enter into the promotion zone and that won four of the previous five games. Coach José Ignacio Fernández was missing a second keeper as Mario was suspended, so he picked Raúl from the Juvenile team.18-year-old Álvaro Prado was also picked for the game and he was a starter.  Ex-Fabril duo Jorge Callón and Juampa are part of the team and were starters in the game.

Second defeat on the season at Abegondo and the first since September. Fabril only knew how to resolve the puzzle of Órdenes until the final minutes of both halves, and when it did it then the attackers missed the opportunities. The visiting team picked the three points thanks to its solid approach, but also to the contribution of two unexpected heroes: keeper Dani Pérez, who was debuting on this season, and also young striker Álvaro Prado, who scored the winning goal.

The goal arrived early in the game, after two straight corner-kicks Prado headed the ball at the far post and into the net. Fabril were surprised by the scheme of Órdenes, team that was putting a high pressure and reaching the local area through dangerous counterattacks.

Thus the first chance for Deportivo B arrived until minute 18, with a shot of Dani Iglesias that went close to the post. Sam Piette had big problems to control the game at midfield, while the attackers were not having too much action. Queijeiro was the most regular player in this first half, he was making his first appearance as a starter and was the one with the better criterion moving the ball.

Suddenly Fabril woke up at the end of the first part and had three clear chances within the last five minutes. Last week the duo Dani Iglesias-Cardoso destroyed Ribadeo (5-0), but in this game both missed their opportunities. Cardoso had a double chance, first after picking a pass that left him alone before the keeper, but he couldn’t resolve the play (36’). One minute later the Portuguese headed on target a cross by Jorge and Dani Pérez made an incredible save.

At minute 41, the chance was for Dani Iglesias, who picked a pass by Piette to face Dani Pérez, and again the keeper made the save. Fabril ended the first half deserving the equalizer, but later it didn’t do too much in the second part.

The second half started with Juan López replacing Jorge, who picked a hamstring injury. Fabril got desperate and never found the way to break the deadlock. Mosquera changed the draw and allowed the entry of Francis Massampu and Kim Woo-Hong replacing Queijeiro and Cańi.

As it happened in the first half, Deportivo B didn’t create any danger until the final five minutes. Cardoso missed his third chance in the game after picking a long pass inside the area, but the Portuguese sent the ball over the crossbar (85’).

Cardoso was coming after scoring a hat-trick and now missed three clear opportunities, but the true is that he had a decent performance and continued to demonstrate that he’s one of the two most dangerous players at the team (Dani Iglesias is the other). The final chance was for Juan López, who fired from close range with the ball going close to the far post (90’)

The solid strategy of Órdenes plus the bad luck to define the opportunities were the two reasons to explain the second defeat at home on the season. Depor B are now fourth at the standings, four points above SD Órdenes and CD Ribadumia, precisely the latter is the next rival in liga (A Senra field)
