The three centre forwards at Deportivo have only scored three goals on this league season, that’s the worst mark among the twenty teams competing at Primera División. None of them have scored in 2015.

There are terrible news with the strikers at Deportivo during this league season. They have only scored three goals in liga, which is the worst mark among the twenty clubs in the competition, those goals were only netted at the Riazor and they remain scoreless in 2015 as the three goals were scored between September and October in 2014.

Only 3 of the 45 shots on target made by three centre forwards at Deportivo have ended in goals on this season. It’s a problem affecting the team as it was saw during the Galician derby after Oriol Riera missed a clear opportunity that would have meant the equalizer.

The curse lived by Deportivo all season long leaves the Galician team as the outfit with less goals scored by its strikers. Hélder Postiga begun the season as the normal starter in attack, but soon the fans got desperate with his performance and especially with his scoring record.

The Portuguese attacker has only played 71 minutes in 2015 as he needed a surgery to correct a lumbago problem. Postiga has played 689 minutes in liga distributed in 14 matches, completing 14 shots on target and only scoring once. His only goal in liga came in the 1-2 defeat at home before Getafe CF (October 31). He also scored a goal in the Copa series against Malaga CF.

In the case of Toché, he hasn’t been criticized as the case of the Portuguese man, but neither his numbers are good. The Murcian he has been going in and out of the formations during this campaign. He’s the striker with more appearances (17), but only three were as a starter (716 minutes). He has completed 14 shots and scored twice, both goals at the Riazor: 2-8 Vs. Real Madrid (September 20) and 3-0 Vs. Valencia CF (October 19). He also scored in Copa against Malaga CF.

The arrival of Oriol Riera during the winter window was supposed to add gunpowder to the attacking line, but until now the Catalan striker remains scoreless after 7 appearances in the league tournament, 6 of them as a starter (483 minutes).

Truly the strikers can contribute with other things to the team, like the case of Riera, who is crucial in the aerial game that leads to secondary plays, but it’s also true that the main job of the centre forward is to score goals, and so far Depor’s strikers are the worst in the league in this department.
