Fariña returns, but Diogo Salomão, Toché and Hélder Postiga won’t be available for the visit to UD Almeria. The rival has a full squad available for the important match.

Deportivo try to leave back the painful defeat in the derby and now face an important challenge visiting UD Almeria (Estadio de los Juegos Mediterráneo, Saturday, 20h00 CET). Both sides are only separated by one point and, with the relegation zone only one point below, the game leaves the impression of been a final.

Right-back Laure returns from suspension, playmaker Luis Fariña returns after missing the last four games due to suspension and an injury, Fariña joined the group on Monday and will be available and it still to be seen if he will be a starter.

But coach Víctor Fernández is missing four players. Centre-back Albert Lopo is out after been sent off in the game against RC Celta. Meanwhile, three players remain out injured: left winger Diogo Salomão (Soleus), plus striker Toché (hamstring strain) and Hélder Postiga (lumbago). The trio has trained apart during the week. Winger Isaac Cuenca was dragging a neck knock, problem that forced him to skip Monday’s training, but he was already fine by Tuesday.

The team trained behind closed doors on Wednesday at the Riazor, which was the unusual thing on the week as lately all the training sessions have been held at Abegondo. The explanation is that the club was taking official pictures of the players and the coach decided to seize the situation and have a tactical session to plan the next match.

Another unusual thing was to see three Fabril’s field players training with the team: winger Cañi plus midfielders Marcos Remeseiro and Álvaro Queijeiro. For the past week the lads from Depor B, apart from keeper David Gómez, were only used in the training matches held on Mondays, but on this week the trio also took part of a tactical session.

At UD Almeria, the Andalusian team picked two straight victories, but later only got one point within the last two games, so they need to return to winning ways in order to not lose the tinny advantage over the relegation zone.

New boss Juan Ignacio Martínez has a full squad available for the game. The Andalusians only have 20 players inscribed with the first team and luckily they haven’t been affected by the injuries. The only player out of Saturday’s game is goalkeeper Rubén Martínez, who is still recovering from an elbow injury. Midfielder Thomas Partey returns after been ineligible against Atlético Madrid for a clause in his loan contract.
