THINKING OF VALENCIA CF

12 Mar 2015
Víctor Fernández is recovering Salomão and Toché as Deportivo almost have a full squad available for the visit to Mestalla. Valencia have the big doubt of Paco Alcácer, who has been out within the last month.

Deportivo are back into the border at the relegation zone and need to add points after suffering three defeats within the last four games, but the next game doesn’t seem to be the proper one in order to get a positive result: the visit to Mestalla in order to face Valencia CF (Friday, 20h45 CET). Los Chés have won 11 of their 13 home meetings and are targeting the third place at the standings.

Depor will only have four training sessions to prepare the game, three normal sessions plus the one of Monday that was a recovery training for the starters against Sevilla CF. At least coach Víctor Fernández is recovering people.

Starting with Diogo Salomão, the Portuguese winger hasn’t debuted yet in liga, his latest problem was a Soleus injury that kept him at bay for the past month. He joined the trainings on Tuesday and received the medical okay to play, so he’s available for the coach.

Meanwhile, striker Toché also joined the trainings on Tuesday; he hasn’t received the medical okay, but it’s expected that he will receive the okay from the doctors on Thursday. If not he will receive the green light on next week and will be available to host RCD Espanyol. The Murcian attacker has been off since one month ago with a hamstring strain injury.

The return of the duo leaves striker Hélder Postiga as the only player out for injury reasons. The Portuguese is evolving from his second surgery trying to heal a lumbago problem and currently is resting at his home. He could need one or two more months in order to be available for the coach.

At Valencia CF, the club is living a good moment and the latest results are leaving them at the edge of the third spot, which is the last sit that guarantees a direct ticket to the next UEFA Champions League. The Valencians haven’t been hit by the injuries, but in the past game with Atlético Madrid two of their fixed starters picked cards that are carrying a suspension.

Centre midfielder Javi Fuego was sent off while German centre-back Shkodran Mustafi picked the fifth yellow card on the season, reason why they are skipping the game against Depor. But all eyes are on striker Paco Alcácer, who is doubtful for the match.

Alcácer picked a knee injury a month ago and was supposed to be sidelined for two weeks, but has missed the last four games. He joined the trainings on last week and was announced that he was fit to play against Atlético, but in the end wasn’t included in the roster and now it isn’t clear if he will be available to face Depor. The 21-year-old attacker was an important player at the beginning of the season and has scored five goals plus providing five assists in liga.
