Deportivo have only picked one point within the last five matchdays; it’s the second time during the season with Víctor Fernández’s team missing the victory in five or more straight games.

A third low moment for Deportivo in the league season. The Blanquiazul outfit has only added one of the last fifteen points in dispute and is once again living at the edge of relegation. After the victory over SD Eibar (2-0) Víctor Fernández’s men suffered two losses before Real Madrid (0-2) and RC Celta (0-2), then a tasteless draw before UD Almeria (0-0) and later the defeats against Sevilla CF (3-4) and Valencia CF (2-0).

Curiously Depor lived its first mini-crisis exactly in the same frame in the first round. It all started with the big loss before Real Madrid (2-8), which was followed by another three defeats facing RC Celta (1-2), UD Almeria (0-1) and Sevilla CF (1-4).

These results led to the first criticism over the coach, which were partially cleared with a big win over Valencia CF (3-0). But immediately Depor returned to live in danger as the team spent six straight matchdays without victories, which is the worst streak so far.

In this frame the team suffered three defeats and only got three draws. The negative run started with a goalless draw visiting RCD Espanyol and was followed by a home loss before Getafe CF (1-2), there were two goalless draws visiting Córdoba CF and hosting Real Sociedad, plus defeats against Atlético Madrid (0-2) and Malaga CF (0-1). Now Depor are going to face exactly the same part of the calendar that caused the worst streak on the season.
