Víctor Sánchez will face his first game as a coach and will only have three trainings with his new team; Salomão is back and Postiga joined the group. Carlos Vela remains doubtful at Real Sociedad.

Intense and unusual week for Deportivo; there were two coaches in a matter of four days and in the middle a disappointing result at the Riazor that leaves the Blanquiazul outfit in the same difficult position at the standings.

The week started with former coach Víctor Fernández under fire after the defeat before Getafe CF, he only completed two trainings before the match against Córdoba CF, one behind closed doors at the Riazor (Monday) and the other at Abegondo (Tuesday), which turned to be his last session with the team. Since Depor missed the victory he was immediately fired after been warned two days before.

Since there was no time to lose the board of directors moved quickly and on Thursday’s morning there was already an agreement with Víctor Sánchez del Amo, who flied to A Coruña with his crew in order to take charge of the first team. He barely had time to arrive to Abegondo and direct his first training. Later he was presented.

The “new” Víctor will only complete three trainings before the visit to Real Sociedad (Anoeta, Sunday, 19h00 CET). And there are good news with the health of the team. First to all Lucas Pérez and Iván Cavaleiro return from suspension, later Diogo Salomão joined the group on Thursday despite it was understood that his thigh injury was going to keep him at bay until the end of the month.

But the Portuguese winger told to reporters at Abegondo that he has been feeling fine since Wednesday and considers himself available. Striker Hélder Postiga also joining the group in a new step forward in his recovery process from his lumbago injury. He won’t be available until May though.

Together with Postiga the other players already out of Sunday’s game are centre midfielder Cezary Wilk (toe injury) and left-back Luisinho, the latter due to suspension after been sent off before Córdoba CF.

At Real Sociedad, the team is living a relaxing situation as they are at the same distance of Europe than of relegation. The Basques are living a good moment with David Moyes, but the Scottish man has been living a strange case with Carlos Vela, the Mexican striker is the top scorer at the team (7 goals + 3 assists), but has only played 25 minutes since January due to a knee injury.

He was declared to be fit to play, but didn’t play any single minute against Málaga CF and Atlético Madrid after the doctors feared a relapse: apparently he will be available to face Deportivo, but it’s something that will be confirmed until Sunday as the same coach stated on Friday.

There’s one confirmed casualty for the game against Depor: left-back Alberto De La Bella (Soleus injury). Meanwhile striker Alfred Finnbogason is doubtful with a muscle problem. In the other hand attacker Iñigo Martínez and defender Ion Ansotegui are returning from suspension.
