REVIEW: FABRIL 6 – BERTAMIRÁNS 0 (TERCERA)

21 Apr 2015
Depor B had mercy of the bottom club; Manu Mosquera’s lads dominated the game and didn’t face any opposition before a rival morally broken. Cardoso and Dani Iglesias scored a brace, Jorge brought three assists.

BEFORE THE GAME
The full team was available for coach Manu Mosquera. For the third straight week the coach was repeating the same lineup, a 4-2-3-1 draw, and even had the same substitutes on the bench. The coach of the first team, Víctor Sánchez, watched the game from the stands.

David Gómez was the goalkeeper, Adrián Martínez was the right-back defender, Jorge Fernández performed on the left side, the centre-backs were Iago López and Róber Suárez. Sam Piette and Álvaro Queijeiro were the centre midfielders, Ángel Fernández was performing on the right wing, Miguel Cardoso was the left winger, Marcos Remeseiro was the playmaker and Dani Iglesias was the centre forward.

The rival was Bertamiráns FC, one of the worst teams in Tercera in recent years. The team coached by Raúl Bralo is already relegated since some weeks ago and has only added seven points on this season. They only won once and before this game had allowed 91 goals. A disastrous campaign that’s sending them back to Regional Preferente. Ex-academy player Diego Enjamio was a starter in the game.

THE MATCH
The expected outcome before a rival without morale and without any incentive. Fabril lived its most pleasant game on the season and, despite the big score, it had mercy as it didn’t push within the last twenty minutes and when the score was already 6-0. The whole team had a solid game, though it’s hard to get precise conclusions facing this kind of opposition.

The story of the game only lasted 24 minutes, the time that Fabril lasted in scoring the first goal. Within this frame Depor’s lads faced some problems to approach the rival’s area, but the deadlock ended as soon as Dani Iglesias assisted Cardoso at the edge of the area, then the Portuguese winger eluded a rival and released a powerful volley into the top left corner of visiting goalie Miguel Rodríguez.

Bertamiráns fell down with the first goal and Fabril brought danger with every attack, with Jorge Fernández constantly penetrating by the left flank and especially with a Cardoso that was a real threat and that participated in five of the six goals.

Precisely the second goal came from the left wing, Jorge released an accurate volley that passed over the visiting defenders and Marcos Remeseiro only had to make a small jump to head the ball into the far post of Miguel. It was his 14th goal on the season.

The siege continue and Jorge and Cardoso hit the woodwork, it seemed the score was going to be 2-0 by half-time, but there were two more goals before the pause. Both goals arrived in a frame of two minutes.

Dani Iglesias scored the third, again the play started on the left wing, Jorge released a high and long cross that found the path of Cardoso, then the Portuguese ran into the area and drilled the ball into the centre, and then the striker scored from close range.

Seconds later Cardoso netted his second in the game and his 16th this campaign with a new powerful volley from mid-distance. The pace in the second part was slower as the score was already 4-0. Manu Mosquera changed the draw into a 3-4-3 with the entries of Cañi and Taboada.

The modifications revitalized a game that was already defined and Depor B scored the fifth goal in a counterattack. Cardoso was again involved in the play passing the ball to Jorge on the left wing, then the full-back drilled the ball into the area, after a deflection it reached the path of Adrián and the captain of the team scored his first goal on the season with a drilling shot past Miguel.

The sixth goal was a repetition of the fifth, Cardoso started the play again and assisted Jorge, who released a drilling cross from the left, this time Dani Iglesias was there to gently push the ball into the near post of Miguel. With the brace Dani Iglesias has now scored 10 goals on the season.

Before these goals Álex Pérez had replaced Ángel. Cardoso remains as the motor in attack, but Jorge is a player to emphasize too. In this game he brought three assists reaching a total of 10 in 27 presentations with the team, a special mark taking in mind he started the season as a substitute. Twenty minutes were remaining in the game, enough time to score a seventh goal, a mark that Fabril hasn’t scored in a decade, but Depor’s lads didn’t push forward and the game ended 6-0.

AFTER THE GAME
The big win is leaving Depor B at the edge of securing the spot in the promotion playoff, something that could be a mathematical fact on next week as the lads visit UD Barbadás, a club that’s about to secure the permanence. Fabril remain second and the best news is that Pontevedra CF lost (1-2 at CD Choco), so the difference with the leaders was reduced to six points.
