The centre midfielder confirmed that he will sign a three-year renewal with the club. Juan Dominguez was the player of the season on last year, but on the season that has ended he lost the starting spot.

One of the soap operas in recent months is about to end. Juan Dominguez will sign a three-year renewal in the coming days. The centre midfielder was pretended by other clubs, but decided to sign a second extension after been promoted from Depor B in 2010.

The player himself confirmed the news as he was attending to a training camp for kids sponsoring by him in Monfero. Asked about the state of the renewal he confirmed that everything is done, “It’s a matter of fixing a date for the sign, but there are no problems and no pending subject. There’s nothing preventing me to sign. It is already agreed. The signing is virtually done and the only thing left is to fix a date in order to do it in the correct way.”

The centre midfielder also admitted interest of other clubs before agreed the contract extension, “There was some interest, but it wasn’t materialized into an offer over the desk. There was interest [from Betis] in a certain phase, but it wasn’t materialized as my renewal was advanced and they knew that I was close to renew. The interest from Deportivo was total since the beginning, and my intention was to stay and, although it took a lot of time, we reached an agreement.”

Dominguez debuted at Primera on December 13th, 2010 as he played as a starter for 56 minutes during the visit to UD Almeria. During the campaign 2009/10 he made 13 appearances in liga and was promoted on a permanent basis ahead of the season 2010/11.

The true is that the 25-year-old midfielder never settled with the team at Primera, he barely got opportunities as the coaches preferred more veteran players. His best moments came with the team competing at Segunda, and last season he was even named as the RCDLC.com player of the season.

On the season that has ended a similar thing occurred; Dominguez began as a normal starter, but later faded away after the arrival of Celso Borges. There were doubts with his performance and in some games he was disappeared. This is the second renewal that he signs for the club after the one of 2010 and now the Pontedeume-born man expects to succeed at the elite.
