Deportivo have reached an agreement for the transfer of Oriol Riera. Itís expected that the striker will sign a three-year deal with the club and could be presented early on the week.

Oriol Riera will play at Deportivo for the next three seasons, at least it is what his agent is saying. Wigan Athletic and Deportivo have reached an agreement for the transfer of the striker. Itís commented that the Galician club is paying around Ä700,000 and that the player will sign a three-year deal.

Several sources claim that the differences between both clubs were related to the amount of the transfer. The English side, who suffered the relegation to the third division, was expecting to collect Ä2 million, but the player pushed hard in order to reduce the amount. In the end The Latics accepted a smaller offer despite other clubs were interested too.

The agent of the attacker, Javier Picallo, confirmed to La Voz de Galicia and TVG that a deal was reached after a negotiation that lasted a couple of weeks. Deportivo havenít made any official announcement as the Galician club hasnít received the papers of the transfer from Wigan.

But itís expected that Riera will be in A CoruŮa on Tuesday in order to sign the contract and join the team ahead of the pre-season stage. The Catalan player joined the team during the winter window and scored four goals in nineteen liga games.
